Daily Vedic Astrology Horoscope Predictions/ Jyotiṣa (Jyotisha) Gochara Phala-Transit Results

*This post will record daily Vedic Astrology predictions based on the transit of the Moon/ Chañdra (Chandra) and other notable transits as and when they should occur. The great utility of Gochara/ Gocara/ transit work is experienced once the natal Karma is well known from the radix/ horoscope/ Jaṅma Kuṅdalī (Janma Kundali). Then the transit planets operate like messengers revealing the mode, method, quality and quanta of the Karmā (Karma) being delivered. There are many other considerations such as the transit of the lord of the major period/ Mahādaśā (Mahadasha), which has a major impact, the transit of the slower planets for certain long standing effects, and the transits of the faster planets to see the results being yielded over shorter periods of time.

The transits are evaluated from the twelve Lagnas being Meṣa, Vṛṣabha, Mithuna, Karkaṭa, Simha, Kanyā, Tulā, Vṛṣcika, Dhanuṣa, Makara, Kumbha, and Mīna (Mesha, Vrishabha, Mithuna, Karkata, Simha, Kanya, Tula, Vrishchika, Dhanusha, Makara, Kumbha, Meena-Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius, and Pisces). These may not simply be restricted to the rising sign or the Udaya Lagna/ the Ascendant in the natal chart/ Rāśi Cakra (Rashi Chakra) but can equally be applied to the Moon sign and the Ārūḍha Lagna (Arudha Lagna).

More about each of the twelve Lagnas (Dwādaśa/ Dwadasha Lagna) and the Yogas obtaining thereto may be read at- http://planetarytransformation.blogspot.in/#!/2006/12/brief-look-at-twelve-lagnas.html

Wednesday,Budhvāra (Budhvara)
14th March, 2012

The dominant impact today is that of the Nīcha Chaṅdra/ Neecha Chandra debilitated Moon in Scorpio/ Āli/ Vṛṣchika Rāsi (Vrishchika Rashi). The transit Moon is a major factor in setting the mood for the day. With the Manas/ mind debilitated in Scorpio, one source of refuge could be to engage in Brāhmaṇa (Brahmana) work of research, delving deep and consulting, working with knowledge and resorting to the timeless truths of spirituality. Research and thinking without boundaries will be more dominant of the significations because of the Yuti/ conjunction of Chaṅdra/ Chandra with Rāhu/ Rahu.

Those with a weak natal Moon such as Kṣīṇa Chaṅdra (Ksheena Chandra/ waning Moon) need to be patient till the transit improves and it will not do to take steps in this state of mind.

Thursday,Gurūvāra (Guruvara)
15th March,2012

Chañdra/ Chandra has moved to Dhanu Rāśi (Rashi)/ Sagittarius and while this is a welcome change after its debilitation in Āli Rāśi/ Vṛṣchika (Vrishchika)/ Scorpio, Chañdra (Chandra) continues to be afflicted by the Parākrama Dṛṣṭi (Parakrama Drishti) of Śani (Shani)/ Saturn and the 2nd Bhāva/ Bhava aspect of Rāhu/ Rahu which causes serious affliction to the Moon. There will be a reason to work very hard and if this attribute of Śani has been internalised and explored then this facet of the Gochara will not prove to be troublesome.

Rāhu's/ Rahu's 12th Bhava aspect is actually on the 2nd Bhava since it is always moving in retrograde motion/ Vakra Gati. This is not a good aspect and people need to be cautious of hidden agendas.

Gurū/ Guru as the lord of Dhanu Rāśi/Rashi indicates hat working in areas like the law, finance, spirituality, religion, astrology, teaching and the like will be rewarding and people in these areas could have more psychological and social fulflment subject to the planetary influences.

Gurū also aspects the transit Moon in Sagittarius from Meṣa (Mesha)/ Aries, and so there is a benfic grace as well and protection which comes from fortune. Dhanu is Gurū's Mūlatrikoṇa Rāśi (Moolatrikona Rashi) and so the dominant theme is work.

18th March, 2012-19th March, 2012

The transit Moon has been in Capricorn/ Makara. It has been relatively free from association and so has been free to act on its own. In the natural 6th Bhāva/ Bhava of the zodiac, governed by Śani/ Shani, even this was not very easy and people were grappling with functional issues, things to be done and even general nuisances. Those with inertia issues might have found this transit of the Moon liberating despite the lordship of Saturn over the sign Capricorn. This is especially so since in the previous signs of Āli and Tulā, the transit Moon was afflicted by the Graha Dṛṣṭi/ Graha Drishti of Rāhu and Śani (Rahu and Shani).

19-20th March,2012:

The transit Moon will be in Kuṃbha Rāśi (Kumbha Rashi)/ Aquarius during this period and the main aspect on Chañdra/ Chandra will be that of Maṅgala (Mangal)/ Mars from Siṃha (Simha)/ Leo. For those with this Rāśi (Rashi) dominant in the horoscope in the Lagna, or in the Ārūḍha/ Arudha Lagna,or with the Chañdra/ Chandra in this Rāsi/ Rashi have been going through an intense time in any case with the Nodes and Maṅgala/ Mangal in Kendra Bhāva/ Bhava forming Sarpa Dośa/ Dosha.

Kuṃbha Rāśi/ Kumbha Rashi has another primordial creation flaw in that the focus of the creater is on the inanimate parts rather than the living and so Chañdra/ Chandra carries the Doṣa (Dosha) for this Rāśi (Rashi). Connection and bonding issues could arise with this transit.

For people at large, matters signified by Kuṃbha Rāśi/ Kumbha Rashi in their horoscope will be highlighted during the transit and for this purpose the Ārūḍha/ Arudha Gocara as explained in the Chañdra Kalā Nāḍī/ Chandra Kala Nadi also has to be seen for acurate results.

There can be liberation during this transit from constricting modes of thought and behaviour because Kuṃbha/ Kumbha is a large Rāśi/ Rashi with popular focus and width and the person has a chance to come out from their inner prison.

One ought not to lose focus of the basic reality that the Graha Dṛṣṭi (Graha Drishti)/ planetary aspect between Maṅgala/ Mangal and the Gocara Cañdra/ Gochara Chandra can lead to force in interaction and/ or arguments, conflicts, resolving and precipitating of adverserial issues and the like. The nature, intensity and outcome would depend on multifarious factors in any given nativity.

23.3.2012

Cañdra/ Chandra is in Mīna Rāśi/ Meena Rashi with Budha and Ravi and aspected by the Graha Dṛṣṭi/ Graha Drishti of Rāhu/ Rahu and retrograde Maṅgala/ Mangal. This makes for fire and communication and deep feelings. Rāhu/ Rahu triggers the mind beyond the routine and ordinary and after the Amāvasyā Tithi/ Amavasya Tithi, the Navarātri/ Navaratri have started, the days of the Devī/ Devi. People can act rashly due to the malefic impact of Mars and Rāhu/ Rahu on the mind. There is an inherent ambiguity and conflict in the Mīna Rāśi/ Meena Rashi and there may be some people afflicted by these characteristics during this transit.

23/24.3.2012

Chañdra/ Chandra will be in Meṣa Rāśi (Mesha Rashi) /Aries during this time and will be joined the two greatest benefics in the zodiac: Gurū and Śukra (Guru and Shukra) / Jupiter and Venus. The expression 'best of both the worlds' may be especially apt here. Chañdra/ Chandra with Gurū/ Guru forms the celebrated Gajakesarī Yoga/ Gajakesari Yoga and with Śukra (Shukra) forms the Vāhana/ Vahana Yoga. This will give a taste of eternal wisdom of Gurū/ Guru with the eternal love of the 'good life' in the material realm signified by Śukra/ Shukra. Such feelings will be forthright and without complications. Though there is Graha Dṛṣṭi (Drishti) of Śani/ Shani from Tulā Rāśi (Tula Rashi)/Libra, Saturn's aspect will work to check the impulse of Meṣa/ Mesha and the bounty which awaits due to the joining of three outright benefics. The only think to look for is avoidance of repression because Śani/ Shani is Vakra and will look to Aries for its desires. Agression and intensity are some of the features which may come up due to the placement of the impressionable Moon in Meṣa Rāśi (Mesha Rashi).

The Vāhana/ Vahana Yoga in Meṣa Rāśi (Mesha Rashi) aspected by Vakra Śani/ Shani can lead to issues with Vāhanas (Vahanas) / vehicles. Since the Rāśi/ Rashi is governed by Maṅgala (Mangal)/ Mars it could be minor accidents or breakage of some parts. This could especially be so if it is Maṅgala Horā (Mangal Hora) and/or Vṛṣabha (Vrishabha)/ Taurus Lagna is rising with Ketu in it as both Grahas indicate accidents and Ketu indicates mistakes in addition. Since it is in a Rāśi/ Rashi of Śukra (Shukra)/ Venus, this could relate to vehicles.

27th March, 2012:

The Vedic transit on 27th and 28th of March,2012 indicates the following for the purposes of prediction: Chañdra/ the Moon will be in Vṛṣabha Rāśi/ Vrishabha Rashi on Maṅgalavāra (Mangalvara)/Tuesday where the Mars energy will be strong. The Moon will be joined Ketu and will form Grahaṇa/  Grahana Yoga and this can lead to temper flare-ups regarding money, food and security issues. Those who are very set in their ways (Sthira Rāśi (Sthira Rashi)/ fixed sign) may find it difficult if some changes to the routine are forced and may act in irrational and impulsive ways. Frayed minds may find succour in spending on luxury, cars, religious ir spiritual items since the sources of gains are also strongly augmented. It is only impulse, irritability and change that pose challenges.

Fool's Day: April 1, 2012:

Chañdra (Chandra)/ the Moon is in Cancer/Karkaṭa Rāśi (Karkata Rashi) and is aspected by both Śani (Shani)/ Saturn and Rāhu/  Rahu with Graha Dṛṣṭi (Drishti)/ planetary aspect. This leads to an affliction of the Moon. The Moon is basically strong in Swakṣetra (Swakshetra)/ own sign and the ill-effects can be said to be born out of base desires. Do not function out of ignorance and malice. Some element of shock or surprise can come from hidden matters since Rāhu/  Rahu aspects from Vṛṣcika (Vrishchika)/ Scorpio.

Anger and impulse can intervene due to pride and authority being challened since Maṅgala/  Mangal has unobstructed Pradhāna Argalā/  Pradhana Argala from Siṃha Rāśi (Simha Rashi)/Leo.

April 3, 2012:

The Gochara Chañdra (Chandra)/ transit Moon travels to the royal Siṃha (Simha)/ Leo and conjoins a retrograde Mars/Maṅgala (Mangal) forming the celebrated Śaśi-Maṅgala (Shashi-Mangala) Yoga. This Yoga, though considered indicative of health issues such as blood pressure irregularities, is giving of wealth. Since Maṅgala/  Mangala is retrograde there may be repressed feelings of rage and anger in the system. On the positive side, an internalisation of ambition and goals could appear. Maṅgala/  Mangal is also know as Krūrādika/ Kruradika, the cruel one. It may be the Commander-in-chief of the Devas/Gods but its Karmic portfolio is such that it is required to be extremely malefic and Tāmasic/  Tamasic in nature.

April 5, 2012:

Chañdra/ Chandra is in Kanyā Rāśi (Kanya Rashi) /Kumārī (Kumari)/ Virgo and this is the time for being particular about everything and striving for perfectionism. One may indulge in writing and information gathering and lawyers might find themselves engaging in drafting work, and those working with Word and other programmes regularly will find their participation intense.

Furthermore,, debilitated Mercury/Nīca Budha aspects Chañdra with both Graha Dṛṣṭi (Drishti)/ planetary aspect and Rāśi Dṛṣṭi (Rashi Drishti)/sign aspect. Budh is very weak being in Rāśi Saṅdhi (Rashi Sandhi) or the junctional region between signs, being at zero degrees Pisces/Mīna Rāśi (Meena Rashi). But at least being in the first Horā/ Hora of an even sign.Budh remains fruitful and minimises some of the problems associated with it. There is Budh-Āditya (Aditya) Yoga formed in Mīna Rāśi (Meena Rashi) and this aspects the Gochara Chañdra/ Chandra.

Hard work due to the Pṛthvī Tattwa/  Prithwi Tattwa and Tamas Guṇa/  Guna will predominate during this transit of the Moon.

9th April, 2012:

The Moon/ Chañdra (Chandra) travels to Āli/ Vṛṣcika (Vrishchika)/ Scorpio Rāśi/  Rashi and becomes debilitated/ Nīca/  Neecha. It is further conjoined its arch-enemy Rāhu/  Rahu. The emotional sensibilities may be challenged and especially for those with an afflicted Chañdra/ Chandra in the nativity, this could be a time for Maṅtra/ Mantra and remedies related to the Moon.

Vṛṣcika (Vrishchika)/ Āli represents the hidden issues that we might have, our Achilles Heel and so these issues might be precipitated. People like to recoil from the dynamics of everyday life and tend to evaluate the need for changes within. Chañdra/ Chandra is also aspected by Maṅgala/ Mangala and therefore it is quite seriously afflicted.

Anger, doubt, fear and vulnerabilities may cloud the mind. These could stem from ego, pride,self-respect as well as deep seated emotional traumas which may surface and call out for attention.

11th April, 2012:

Chañdra/ Chandra is in Dhanu Rāśi/ Rashi and has to traverse over the Mūla Nakṣatra (Moola Nakshatra) in this sign.It also has to traverse the Gaṅdānta/ Gandanta position which arises due to the junction between the Jala Tattwa Āli and the Agni Tattwa Dhanu leading to a Tattwa (primordial element) conflict.

Chaṅdra/ Chandra in Dhanu Rāśi/ Rashi is also aspected by Śani/ Shani from Tulā Rāśi (Tula Rashi) with Graha Dṛṣṭi (Drishti)/ planetary aspect but the blemish is cured by the beneficial aspect of Gurū (Guru)/ Jupiter from Meṣa Rāśi (Mesha Rashi)/ Aries.

Rāhu/ Rahu is also aspecting Chañdra/ Chandra in Gocara and this leads to some affliction since it brings forth the influence of two malefics on the gentle luminary. Therefore, doubts and fears have to be kept at bay.

Dhanu Rāśi/ Rashi is the Mūlatrikoṇa Rāśi/ Moolatrikona Rashi of Gurū/ Guru where the Graha works. Lawyers, priests, teachers, financiers may have a field day while the Moon is transiting this sign. Brahmaṇa Yoga is formed by the combined aspect of Śani/ Shani and Gurū/ Guru to Chañdra/ Chandra and so traditional pursuits are well advised. Words should be chosen with care especially since the transit occurs on Budhvāra/ Budhvara and the planet Budh if well disposed in the nativity can make this a good day for those blessed with communication skills and words. Otherwise Budhvāra/ Budhvara can activate the Deva Doṣa/ Dosha. So, those with communication and perspective issues should be careful about such matters.

It is a good day for Maṅtra/ Mantra and temple worship and orthodox religious advice, reception of auspicious and Sāttwic/ Sattwic remedial measures etc. If the Gochara relative to the Bhāgyapada/ Bhagyapada supports this then it could be a good day to receive important Maṅtras/ Mantras from the Gurū/ Guru.

14th April, 2012:

Chañdra/ Chandra has moved to Nakra Rāśi (Rashi)/ Capricorn where it is not aspected by any malefics with Graha Dṛṣṭi (drishti). Makar/ Nakra Rāśi/ Rashi is the Karma Bhāva/ Bhava of the natural zodiac and relates to work and attainments. This is a Rāśi/ Rashi where any results are difficult to come by and the person is required to put in major effort. People would find that important activities related to work would transpire during this Gocara of Chañdra/ Chandra. This could include developments at work, work responsibilities and if Śani/ Shani is pleased then some rewards for hard work could be forthcoming as well.

Office spaces and the work environment could also be in focus. For those with Śani/ Shani dominant or those who have been feeling Śani's/ Shani's impact over the years, this transit could be heavy on the mind especially on Śanivāra/ Shanivara/ Saturday when the energies of Śani/ Shani are strong.

16th April, 2012:

Manic Monday could well be that as Chañdra/ Chandra transits Kumbha Rāśi (Rashi)/ Aquarius on the 16th of April,2012. Maṅgala (Mangal)/ Mars aspects the Moon from its position in Leo/ Simha with Graha Dṛṣṭi (Drishti)/ planetary aspect and Sarpa Yoga is formed in transit qua the fixed signs or the Sthira Rāśi (Rashi). There are three malefics in quadrants composed by the Sthira Rāśi (Rashi)/ fixed signs, the other two being Rāhu/ Rahu and Ketu. The Sarpa Yoga is broken by Śukra (Shukra)/ Venus as it conjoins Ketu and is aided by the transit Moon in Aquarius.

The interpretation of this is that appreciation of beauty in its true perspective and also appreciation of the good things of life as a result of good Karma has to be adopted else the desires relating to ambition, gains, secrets and wealth and finances could be damaging and elusive. The transit Moon could illustrate the poison that could come into the system if the material wealth of the world is blindly pursued. At the same time, the Śaśi-Maṅgala/ Shashi-Mangala Yoga and the Paraspara Kāraka/ Karaka Yoga of Śukra/ Shukra and Chaṅdra/ Chandra is very good for financial gains and enjoyments.

18th April, 2012:

Chañdra/ Chandra will move to Mīna Rāśi (Meena Rashi) on 18th April,2012 and will conjoin a Nīcha/ Neecha Budha/ Mercury in Pisces. Budha is also inimical to his father Chañdra/ Chandra and so communications and speech will need to be watched carefully. The Yoga will be aspected by Rāhu/ Rahu from Vṛṣcika (Vrishchika)/ Scorpio. The Jala Tattwa is involved here and so emotions will be dominant as too the Brahminical/ consulting activity, research and work related to knowledge.

The aspect of Maṅgala/ Mangala on the transit Moon along with Rāhu/ Rahu can lead to anger and a spiralling of things that come from impulse. This can lead to angry outbursts and an affliction to the mind.

20th-21st April, 2012:

On 20th and 21st April,2012 Chañdra/ Chandra will cross through the Gaṅdānta/ Gandanta position between Mīna Rāśi/ Meena Rashi and Meṣa Rāśi/ Mesha Rashi which can be a trigger for people destined to go through a difficult time. This Gochara can indicate a major change. Two elements or two different ways of life can collide to lead to a novel situation.

As the Moon moves deeper into Aries on Friday night/Śukravāra/ Shukravara and on Śanivāra (Shanivara)/ Saturday, it will conjoin an exalted Ravi and Gurū/ Guru. Sun in Aries is exalted and very powerful. For those approaching leadership roles or in them or concerned with leadership, this could be a transit to enjoy these facets and develop ideas related to shining, rising, leading and power.

The association with Gurū/ Guru leads to the celebrated Gajakesarī (Gajakesari) Yoga and events showing fame and prowess resulting from wisdom and knowledge and success in undertakings, initiative could well characterise the transit.

1st May, 2012: The past couple of days, the 29th and 30th of April,2012 have been a mixed bag with Chañdra (Chandra) / the Moon being in Karka Rāśi (Rashi)/ Cancer, aspected by the two malefics Rāhu and Śani/ Saturn (Rahu and Shani) with planetary aspect/ Graha Dṛṣṭi/ Drishti. The mind was afflicted and people with adverse personalities could have acted in tune with the nature of the malefics and troubled some of the more evolved people who are not to be embroiled in lesser things. The Moon could have acted very afflicted approaching its Gaṅdānta/ Gandanta position in Karka Rāśi/ Rashi. Anyhow, that period is now over and the Moon has moved to Simha/ Leo and has joined Maṅgala (Mangala)/ Mars. This forms the Chañdra-Maṅgala/ Chandra-Mangala Yoga and is conducive for wealth. It can also bring irritability and bouts of anger. The Yoga receives the supporting aspect/ Graha Dṛṣṭi/ Drishti of Gurū/ Guru/ Jupiter joined an exalted Ravi/ Sun. This is a time to listen to your thoughts. They may have an edge to them and may even come wrapped in the crimson cloud of anger, but the Rāśi/ Rashi is Simha, that of conscious thought and aspiration and power. Maṅgala in the influence of Gurū will speak the truth without a care and so the thoughts which come and the social stimuli that comes ought to be watched carefully. This is also because there are no other malefics apart from Mars impacting the Moon.

5th-6th May,2012:

Chañdra (Chandra)/ the Moon is in Tulā Rāśi (Tula Rashi)/ Libra on the 5th and 6th of May,2012 and it is joined an exalted and retrograde Śani/ Shani. Get set from a blast from the past. Retrograde Śani/ Shani will focus on the past events translating to present equations. Tulā Rāśi/ Tula Rashi relates to interaction and romance as well. Śani/ Shani is in Rāśi Saṅdhi/ Rashi Sandhi though. The transit includes Śanivāra/ Shanivara/ Saturday and the full Moon could lead to some social and emotional activity. Gurū/Guru and Budha are joined an exalted Ravi in Meṣa Rāśi (Mesha Rashi/ Aries. The mutual aspect between Gurū and Chañdra (Guru and Chandra) leads to the celebrated Gajakesarī Yoga/ Gajakesari Yoga. High intelligence and fame can happen. An old equation can resolve itself. Śani/ Shani is indicative of the past the the Pūrṇa Chañdra (Purna Chandra)/ the full Moon can indicate an illumination of the past in some form. Depending on the individual Karma, these things will manifest accordingly. Ego conflicts should be avoided due to the opposition of Ravi and Śani/ Shani. They can be avoided due to the influence of Gurū/ Guru on the two Grahas. The full Moon can bring relief and happiness to those with an afflicted Moon in the nativity. One should watch carefully for Nimitta/omens. They can indicate what is to come. Unusual messages can come and the Graha indicating the messages should be identified to gauge the relevance in the nativity. Such heady Yogas can represent changes and turning points. Chance encounters and anything out of the ordinary can be very crucial for future prognostications.

7th-8th May, 2012:

Chañdra is Nīcha/ Neecha in Vṛṣcika Rāśi (Vrishchika Rashi/ Scorpio. It is also joined Rāhu/ Rahu. There can be both euphoria of Rahu, a sudden material climb, and a plunge into the depths of depression is also possible. For those who have trained their minds with spiritual practices, this can be a heady ride but for those who are as yet untrained, this can be a difficult transit of the Moon. One can also consider the Varga Gochara of the Grahas and as always those who are looking for answers should watch for unusual and surprising occurences since these bear the messages of the unknown.

9th-10th May,2012:

During this time especially on the night of the 8th, the Moon/ Chañdra/ Chandra will traverse the Gaṅdānta/ Gandanta position between Vṛṣcika/ Vrishchika and Dhanu Rāśi/ Rashi. This can bring some unrest and still the Moon in Mūla Nakṣatra/ Moola Nakshatra has the power to bring one to the origin of things, the very basis. While Vṛṣchika/ Vrishchika is the Bhāva/ Bhava of the zodiac which contains the hidden facets of the universe, Dhanu is the Mūlatrikoṇa/ Moolatrikona of Gurū/ Guru and those who work with the disicplines of Gurū/ Guru can have a couple of very busy days. Also, people can have deep insights that come from the benefic Gurū/ Guru in this Gochara. The Moon receives the aspects of Śani/ Shani and Rāhu/ Rahu in Dhanu Rāśi/ Rashi just as it received the impact of the conjoined Rāhu/ Rahu and the Graha Dṛṣṭi/ Drishti of Maṅgala/ Mangala in Vṛṣcika/ Vrishchika. There is affliction to the Moon and yet the aspect of Gurū/ Guru from Meṣa Rāśi/ Mesha Rashi assuages these facets and helps the mind especially since the Moon is in a sign ruled by Guru. 11th-12th May,2012: On the 11th and 12th of May,2012, the Jyotiṣa/ Jyotisha Gochara/ vedic astrology transit reveals an entirely unassociated Chañdra/ Chandra/ the Moon. Here the term 'entirely unassociated' means want of association by Yuti/ conjunction and Graha Dṛṣṭi/ Drishti/ planetary aspect. Chañdra/ Chandra is in Makara/ Nakra Rāśi/ Rashi governed by Śani/ Shani/ Saturn. It is a Rāśi/ Rashi governed by the ethics of hard work. The work is grinding and Tāmasic/ Tamasic in nature. Maṅgala/ Mangala aspects Chañdra/ Chandra with Rāśi Dṛṣṭi/ Rashi Drishti/ sign aspect from Siṃha/ Simha/ Leo showing that the mind can be prone to anger and irritability. Work will be the most dominant theme unless people succumb to the Ṣadṛpu/ Shadripu/ six internal enemies when Makara can present a different picture. People should keep their wits about them as the Rāśi/ Rashi has Deva Doṣa/ Dosha.

13th-14th May, 2012:

On the 13th and 14th of May,2012 Chañdra/ Chandra/ the Moon is in Kuṃbha Rāśi/ Kumbha Rashi/ Aquarius and is out of the work issues experienced by many people on Śanivāra/ Saturday. It is now in Kuṃbha Rāśi/ Kumbha Rashi which is temporally a very large sign and indicates a lack of boundaries. Consciousness of boundaries or disregard of boundaries are both injurious. The only way to access the best of Kuṃbha/ Kumbha and to get past the poison is to transcend it. This is a mystic process and has to be determined by each Soul on the path of awareness and conscious journey. Kuṃbha/ Kumbha in that sense can indicate a feeling of space and relief from the grinding Tamas of Nakra Rāśi/ Rashi beset with inherent confusion due to the Deva Dośa/ Dosha. There is the aspect of Maṅgala/ Mangala from Siṃha Rāśi/ Simha Rashi and the aspect of Mars to the Moon on the 12th and 14th of May,2012 ensures action and activity. Here the Tāmasic/ Tamasic influences will come in the form of lack of inhibition and fearless response. There may be money as well due to the Śaśi-Maṅgala/ Shashi-Mangala Yoga formed due to the mutual aspect as stated. Work for opulence and some deep desires for things of beauty comes due to the Rāśi Dṛṣṭi/ RashiDrishti/ sign aspect of Śani from Tulā Rāśi/ Tula Rashi/ Libra and Saturn ensures that one works with these goals in mind. Chañdra/ Chandra is in Śani's/ Shani's Rāśi/ Rashi as well and will have to register the impact of Śani/ Shani. Three other planets aspect the transit Moon with Rāśi Dṛṣṭi/ Rashi Drishti/ sign aspect from Meṣa/ Mesha/ Aries and Budha, Gurū/ Guru and Ravi also influence the mind with skills, wisdom, understanding, perspective, communications, speech, initiative, leadership, pride and self-respect and the desire to reach heights in one's chosen field of work. These daily horoscopic predictions can be useful in understanding the cosmic drift with which one may put oneself in tune for the best results.

16th-17th May, 2012:

ChañdraChandra/  moves to Mīna Rāśi/ Meena Rashi/Pisces and while this is a benefic sign, the lord Gurū/ Guru/ Jupiter is in Rāśi Saṅdhi/ Rashi Sandhi and quite weak. More immediately, the Moon in transit is quite battered on the 16th and 17th of May, 2012 by the aspects of dire malefics by Graha Dṛṣṭi/ Graha Drishti planetary aspect. Out of these Śani/ Shani has both Graha and Rāśi Dṛṣṭi/ Rashi Drishti on the Gochara Chañdra/ Chandra/ the Moon.

Śani/ Shani is retrograde in Kanyā/ Kanya/ Kumārī Rāśi/ Kumari Rashi/ Virgo where Śani/ Shani enjoys the status of the worst Graha. Saturn aspects the transit Moon from its junctional position. Rāhu/ Rahu aspects with its 5th aspect from Āli/ Vṟṣchika/ Vrishchika/ Scorpio and Maṅgala/ Mangala/ Mars aspects from Leo/ Siṃha/ Simha.

The end result is a sudden assault on the mind by exclusion, pain and melancholy and also secrets coming out and Maṅgala triggering everything with anger and suddenness. Maṅtra will be needed for the Moon as well as for the malefics. There can be a corresponding surge in the need to have a good time and for those whom it is allowed by the Grahas this will happen as well.

Of course, another major thing is that which has been highlighted in a paper on the transits that are occuring in the month of May, 2012.  In this specific Gochara, Gurū/ Guru/ Jupiter moves to Vṟṣabha/ Vrishabha/ Taurus and Ravi/ the Sun gains strength at about 2 degrees Taurus being out of the zone of Rāśi Saṅdhi/ Rashi Sandhi/ junctional region between Aries and Taurus. As stated in the linked paper through the highlighted portion, Śukra/ Shukra is also retrograde in Vṛṣabha/ Vrishabha and the highest attributes of an inner liking of good food, sorting out movable assets and finances and the bank accounts, and working with speech and opulence will all transpire. Śukra/ Shukra will work very hard during this period which it does not necessarily like but then a great natural benefic like Śukra/ Shukra in Vakra Gati in strength in own sign will like to give a lot to the concerned individuals. So get ready to receive.

18th-19th May, 2012:

The transit Moon travels to Meṣa Rāśi/ Mesha Rashi Aries and joins Budha/ Mercury. Apart from the influence of Budha, Chañdra/ Chandra is uninfluenced by the Graha Dṛṣṭi/ Drishti of any planet. The Moon in Aries is about initiative and ambition, and taking the first step. Along with Leo/ Siṃha/ Simha this is also a royal sign. There is Rāśi Dṛṣṭi/ Rashi Drishti/ sign aspect of Maṅgala/ Mangala/ Mars from Leo and Rāhu/ Rahu from Vṛṣchika/ Vrishchika/ Āli/ Scorpio which gives indications of deep thought and research. People could connect with their friends and take the lead due to the fact that Budha is the Naisargika Kāraka/ Karaka/ natural significator for friends. There would then be communications to this effect.

Maṅgala's/ Mangala's aspect basically ensures that this will fructify since He is the lord of Meṣa/ Mesha. It is just that maturity is required because Budha is inimical to Chañdra/ Chandra and Maṅgala/ Mangala is inimical to Budha. Some level of maturity should ensure that the communications are all positive.

21st-22nd May, 2012:

Chañdra/ Chandra is tossed into the rough and tumble as he transits Vṛṣabha/ Vrishabha/ Taurus and apart from forming Gajakesarī/ Gajakesari Yoga, Vāhana/ Vahana Yoga, and a blessing as well as it joins Śukra/ Shukra and Budha/ Mercury as well. But there is company for the gentle luminary and a crowd as well. There is too much happening in Taurus and apart from the Amāvasyā Tithi/ Amavasya Tithi/ dark Moon, there is an eclipse happening as well. Six planets in Taurus will cause upheaval. When the dust settles, the exalted Moon will ensure that the hurly-burly is for a higher or auspicious end. Budha will play for those with Vṛṣabha Rāśi/ Vrishabha Rashi dominant in some way and people may indulge in writing, jokes and instant messaging more than they otherwise do.

23rd-25th May,  2012:

On 23rd to the 25th of May,2012, the transit Moon/ Chañdra/ Chandra is in Mithuna Rāśi/ Rashi and aspected by Vakra Śani/ Shani from Kumārī Rāśi/ Kumari Rashi. It is said that a Graha aspected by one malefic is no problem while a Graha aspected by two or more malefics is more than a problem. Mithuna Rāśi/ Rashi relates to communications and writing. It relates to information, articles, recordings and dissemination of information through these modes. People may find themselves using these avanues of Budha/ Mercury during this transit. And yet, the 10th house aspect of retrograde Śani/ Shani may bring obstacles to this and a slow progress laced with requirements of hard work.

26th-27th May,  2012:

Chañdra/ Chandra/ the Moon transits into Karkaṭa Rāśi/ Karkata Rashi/ Cancer on the 26th and 27th of May. This Rāśi/ Rashi is owned by Chañdra/ Chandra and relates to cure, home and healing. Ailments can find their cessation here as it shows the future of quarantine in removal of disease, being the Pañchama Bhāva/ Panchama Bhava from the Dwādaśa Bhāva/ Dwadasha Bhava from the Lagna.

The Moon works in Cancer and it works at empathy and connecting with others. It eases pain and attempts to create understanding. It can aid emotional understanding and can put the focus on matters relating to the home. It can indicate changes in all these areas and some frightening borders can be transcended in these realms since Rāhu/ Rahu aspects the Moon with Graha Dṛṣṭi/ Drishti/ planetary aspect from the transformation-zone of Vṛṣcika/ Vrishchika/ Āli Rāśi/ Rashi/ Scorpio. The changes and insights can be deep and can come with an element of pressure since the Moon is debilitated in the extreme energies of Scorpio. An old and poisonous pain can be understood and removed. Caring and the ability to care can be heightened during this transit with a sense of duty since the guiding energy includes that of Śani/ Shani/ Saturn whose Vāra or the Vedic weekday falls during this transit of the Moon.

Such understanding can be useful to those for whom the  Moon is or is becoming prominent in the nativity in some way and if during this Cancer transit such impressions have presented themselves then it can herald the coming of the energies of the gentle luminary/ queen of the cosimic cabinet into life, in the manner indicated by the horoscope.

28th-29th May, 2012:

The transit Chañdra/ Chandra moves to Simha/ Leo and for those interacting with people born in the Simha Lagna should be careful that they do not become a 'meal of the lion'. Maṅgala/ Mangala is placed there as well and though the Śaśi-Maṅgala/ Shashi-Mangala Yoga is creative of wealth and indicates money coming in, it also causes anger, irritation and abrasion. There are eight planets in the Sthira Rāśi/ Rashi/ fixed signs and the status-quo comes clearly into focus.

Rāhu/ Rahu especially in Vṛṣchika/ Vrishchika/ Āli/ Scorpio is pushing for sudden change and change at any cost, putting away boundaries. The Graha Dṛṣṭi/ Drishti/ planetary aspect of Maṅgala/ Mangala to Rāhu/ Rahu is that of Rakṣa Dṛṣṭi/ Raksha Drishti  in a Caturāśraya/ Chaturashraya and Maṅgala/ Mangala is sternly commanding Rāhu/ Rahu to stay put and respect the King (read one's own considered and old choices).

30th-31st May,  2012:

The Moon transit is in Kanyā Rāśi/ Kanya Rashi on 30th and 31st May, 2012 and the gentle luminary is joined Śani/ Shani/ Saturn which is retrograde in this sign. The Śani-Chañdra/ Shani-Chandra Yoga is intense and can give some health issues or some doubts related to health issues. The intensity of the Sāde-Sātī/ Sade-Sati for Kanyā Rāśi/ Kanya Rashi returns with the backward motion of Saturn into the sign.

Rigidity and adherence to needless detail can show itself during this transit making it a part of an intense week emotionally and mentally.

1st - 2nd June, 2012:

The transit Moon is caught in a Pāpa-kartarī/ Papakartari Yoga formed by Śani and Rāhu (Shani and Rahu) in Kanyā and Āli Rāśi (Kanya and Ali Rashi) respectively. Libra is ruled by Venus/ Śukra/ Shukra and some Venusian matters could come to the fore, albeit with some doubts, fears and pressures.

3rd-4th June, 2012:

The Gochara Cañdra/ Chandra/ transit Moon on the 3rd and the 4th of June, 2012 transits its sign of debility in Vṛṣcika/ Vrishchika/ Āli/ Ali or Scorpio. The gentle Moon is at its worst placement in the intense and malefic Scorpio which holds a lot of poison and is a deep, far removed place where secret processes and transformations can occur. To add to the psychological vulnerabilities of this transit, the Moon is further joined Rāhu/ Rahu, the north Node of the Moon. There are irrational fears and anxieties in the mind and the mind may communicate signals to the brain that some terrible calamity is to come.

The situation is made much worse by the fact that there is a very severe Gocara Cañdra Śāpa/  Curse of the Moon. A Śāpa/ Shapa or Curse is formed when a naturally benefic planet is either joined or aspected with Graha Dṛṣṭi/ Drishti/ planetary aspect by two or more naturally malefic planets. During this transit Cañdra/ Chandra the Moon is joined Rāhu/ Rahu on the 3rd and 4th of June, 2012. Rāhu/ Rahu is a dire malefic and is greatly inimical to the Moon. Further two other Tāmasic/ Tamasic planets, Saturn/ Śani/ Shani and Mars/ Maṅgala/ Mangala aspect Cañdra/ Chandra with Graha Dṛṣṭi/ Drishti. As many as three malefic planets afflict the Moon in its sign of debility. Fear, anger, depression, doubts and fears all assail the mind at this time.

For such transits Maṅtra/ Mantra should be resorted to to pacify the mind. Scheming and intrigue should be watched for and deceit and backstabbing are Kārmic/ Karmic features that can show up during this time.

5th-6th June, 2012:

Cañdra/ Chandra the transit Moon traverses Dhanuṣa Rāśi/ Dhanusha Rashi/ Sagittarius on the 5th and 6th of June, 2012. Dhanuṣa Rāśi/ Rashi is ruled by the great Gurū/ Guru/ Jupiter and the mind will get to work on Jovian matters since this is the Mūlatṛkoṇa Rāśi/ Moolatrikona Rashi of Gurū/ Guru.

Law, teaching, finance, scriptures, astrology, philosophy, physics and such avenues will come through. Higher education, lawyers and  judges could be in the news. Religious organisations and religions will also be dominant during this transit. Deep knowledge of the Vedaṅga/ Vedanga can be in focus.

Issues relating to purity and adherence to detail, and lapses in this regard can also be significant areas since Śani/ Shani has Rāśi Dṛṣṭi/ Rashi Drishti/ sign aspect from Kumārī Rāśi/ Kumari Rashi, a Pārśva Rāśi/ Parshva Rashi for Dhanuṣa/ Dhanusha.

Rāhu/ Rahu has its secret and hidden impact on the Moon with its 12th Bhāva/ Bhava aspect on the Gochara Cañdra/ Gochara Chandra in Dhanuṣa/ Dhanusha from its station in Āli. Zodiacally this translates into the throttling 2nd Bhāva/ Bhava aspect. For those who have interacted with Rāhu/ Rahu in deep meausre, they can understand such workings and try and mitigate the same but for those for whom this is alien terrain, could have matters to ponder. Simply stated, look out for treachery and subterfuge.

The other challenge can come from the fact that the transit of the Moon from Scorpio to Sagittarius involves the traversing of the Gaṅdāṅta/ Gandanta which is the junctional region between Vṛṣcika/ Vrishchika and Dhanuṣa Rāsi/ Dhanusha Rashi. There is a Tattwa conflict here which is shown by the fact that the Jala Tattwa Āli changes to the Agni Tattwa Dhanuṣa/ Dhanusha and it is the gentle Sāttwic Cañdra/ Sattwic Chandra which is to traverse this change from the Water element to the Fire. The two elements are opposed to each other: Fire makes the cool Water boil and Water tends to try and douse the Fire.

People with vulenarble Moons in the radix/ nativity will feel this trauma in the mind, especially as Rāhu/ Rahu insists on making it felt.

7th-8th June,  2012:
Gurūvāra/ Guruvara-Thursday

Relief comes to people on the 7th and 8th of June, 2012. Relief comes from the incessant battering of Cañdra/ Chandra the Moon by malefics, debility and cruel associations and planetary aspects. There was an eclipse/ Cañdra Grahaṇa as well. As a result the mind will be more at peace since the Moon is the significator for the mind. The Vedic Weekday,  a crucial element of the Pañcāṅga/ Panchanga-the five-fold break up of Time, is Gurūvāra/ Guruvara or Thursday ruled by the greatest benefic in the zodiac-Jupiter. Awareness, perspective and abundance furnish the guiding energy for the day since these are the significations of the planet Jupiter.

Furthermore, Gurū/ Guru aspects the transit Moon in Capricorn-Nakra/ Makara Rāśi/ Rashi on the 7th and 8th of June, 2012 from its station in Vṛṣabha/ Vrishabha/ Taurus. Jupiter in Taurus aspects the Moon with its 9th House planetary aspect/ Graha Dṛṣṭi/ Drishti which infuses the mind with perspective and knowledge even though the sign of transit of the Moon is that of debilitation of the planet Jupiter. It will illuminate Tamas for what it is, and thereby guide the thoughts and impulses accordingly.

The Moon, for the first time in the week is free from malefic association. Though it is matters of practicality and work where the mind is focussed, still this transit will be far more auspicious than the preceding ones this week. Daily work and duties will occupy the mind. There is a realistic possibility of viewing the chores to be performed, with more of an overview, than is usually the case.

9th-10th June,  2012:
Śanivāra/ Shanivara-Ravivāra/ Ravivara

Cañdra/ Chandra/ the Moon moves to Kuṃbha/ Kumbha/ Aquarius on the 9th and 10th of June, 2012. The Rāśi/ Rashi is ruled by Rāhu/ Rahu and Śani/ Shani/ Saturn and contains delusion. Delusion is one of the characteristics of Rāhu/ Rahu. This Rāśi/ Rashi can guide the mind shown by the Moon into suspect alleys where one's emotions can get wayward.

Further there is a Graha Dṛṣṭi/ Drishti planetary aspect of Mars/ Maṅgala/ Mangala from Siṃha/ Simha/ Leo to Cañdra/ Chandra in Kuṃbha/ Kumbha. There is a Cañdra-Maṅgala/ Chandra-Mangala Yoga formed which is conducive to material gains but can bring friction in the form of anger and irritation.

11th-13th June, 2012:

Moon gets devastated by the aspects of Śani/ Shani/ Saturn, Rāhu/ Rahu and Maṅgala/ Mangala/ Mars during its transit to Mīna Rāśi/ Meena Rashi/ Pisces on the 11th and 12th of June, 2012. Śani/ Shani aspects Cañdra/ Chandra from Kumārī Rāśi/ Kumari Rashi and Rāhu/ Rahu aspects Mīna/ Meena from Vṛṣcika/ Vrishchika with Graha Dṛṣṭi/ Drishti planetary aspect. The aspect of Rāhu/ Rahu is by way of its 9th Bhāva/ Bhava aspect counted in reverse which assaults faith and convention. The aspect of Śani/ Shani depresses the mind and Maṅgala aspects the Moon with its 8th Bhāva/ Bhava aspect.

There is likely to be a lot of friction, and anger, fights, arguments may break out. Also, the aspect of Śani/ Shani may bring out many deep seated issues to the fore. It is best to wait out such a transit and propitiate the afflictions.

14th-15th June,  2012:

Cañdra/ Chandra travels to Meṣa Rāśi/ Mesha Rashi on the 14th of June, 2012 but not before it traverses the Gaṅdāṅta/ Gandanta. The junctional region between Mīna/ Meena/ Pisces and  Meṣa/ Mesha/ Aries can be a harrowing experience for the emotional cognizance because it contains the conflict between the Jala and Agni Tattwas respectively. Receptivity and initiative come to logger-heads for some time. There are no malefic Pūrṇa Dṛṣṭis/ Purna Drishtis on the mind and so in the atmosphere of ambition and aspiration, the mind is free to contemplate and act on themes of attainment, leadership and initiative.

16th-18th June, 2012:

With the Saṅkrāṅti/ Sankranti intervening, and Ravi/ the Sun moving across from Vṛṣabha/ Vrishabha/ Taurus to Mithuna/ Gemini people felt a notable downsurge in vitality and resources with some reporting a clear vulnerability in self-respect and pride. Ravi in Rāśi-Saṅdhi/ Rashi-Sandhi or the junctional region of Taurus and Gemini had become very weak on 16th and 17th of June, 2012 and therefore its significations had suffered considerably.

Cañdra/ Chandra/ the Moon travels to Vṛṣabha Rāśi/ Vrishabha Rashi Taurus on 16th of June, 2012 which is its sign of exaltation. The Vaishya Cañdra/ Chandra feels extremely happy here in the material bounty of Vṛṣabha/ Vrishabha. There is mental peace and sating and the natives with Taurus dominant in the nativity can experience a sense of financial happiness and a fair bit of indulgence in food and drink.

The Moon joins Gurū/ Guru Jupiter in Vṛṣabha/ Vrishabha-the greatest natural benefic in the zodiac and forms the Gajakesarī/ Gajakesari Yoga with the Moon in its exaltation sign. The next benefic in the heirarchy-Śukra/ Shukra/ Venus is also here and forms Vāhana/ Vahana Yoga with Cañdra/ Chandra. While Ketu is here, it will work to curb the tendencies to overdoing it and for those with access to the traditional esoteric teachings, this could be a heady time where both the flesh and spirit find their joys.

19th-20th June,  2012: (New Moon in Gemini/ Amāvasyā/ Amavasya)

Cañdra/ Chandra/ the Moon transits to Mithuna Rāśi/ Rashi/ Gemini on the 18th and 19th of June, 2012. The Tithi/ lunar date continues to be Amāvasyā/ Amavasya which is malefic and can cause stressed emotional and social experiences.

The Moon conjoined Ravi/ the Sun in Mithuna Rāśi/ Rashi and there may be more masculine activity around, full or purpose and drive. Budha/ Mercury is also here and Śani/ Shani/ Saturn aspects the combination of Cañdra/ Chandra, Ravi and Budha in Mithuna with both Graha and Rāśi Dṛṣṭi/ Rashi Drishti.

Communications, and work related to information, publishing, writing, emails, internet, telephones, and the like will become dominant and there may be some slowing effects due to the influence of Śani/ Shani. The great focus on expression, information and communication may be constricted by the aspect of the great malefic leading to the need for some reflection before Mercurial action.

The Amāvasyā (Amavasya) Tithi/ the New Moon in Gemini  heralds a new beginning for many in matters related to Gemini, such as planning, initiative, communications and also mattters indicated by the Bhāva/ Bhava/ house occupied by Gemini in any Rāśi Cakra/ Rashi Chakra/ nativity, as reckoned from the Lagna, Ārūḍha/ Arudha Lagna and other important reference points.

21st-23rd June, 2012:

Cañdra/ Chandra moves to Karka Rāśi/ Karka Rashi/ Cancer. There are mutiple influences on the transit Moon but home, caring and the concept of value/ happiness will become dominant since Cañdra/ Chandra will be in its own sign-Karkaṭa/ Karkata/ Cancer. Trust and family will be important. Rāhu/ Rahu aspects the Moon with both Graha Dṛṣṭi/ Drishti and Rāśi Dṛṣṭi/ Rashi Drishti from Vṛṣcika/ Vrishchika/ Scorpio and some deep secrets could come to the emotional cognizance. The tendency to dig deep and find through the scientific method will also show itself. There is the Rāśi Dṛṣṭi/ Rashi Drishti of Gurū/ Guru/Jupiter and Śukra/ Shukra/ Venus from Vṛṣabha/ Vrishabha/ Taurus as well which gives an atmosphere of awareness and well-being. Maṅgala/ Mars is also in Rāśi Saṅdhi/ junctional region between Leo/ Simha and Kanyā Rāśi/ Kanya Rashi/ Virgo and has become quite weak. People should be careful about their inanimate/ Jaḍa/ Jada belongings, anger, accidents and fights and arguments.

24th-26th June, 2012:

With the incendiary combination of Śani/ Shani/ Saturn and Maṅgala/ Mangala/ Mars in Kanyā Rāśi/ Kanya Rashi/ Virgo happening in June, 2012 we have had reports in India of valuable government files being burnt in government offices. Notably, Kanyā/ Kanya/ Virgo being the 6th House/ Bhāva/ Bhava of the natural zodiac rules offices and daily work and being ruled by the planet Budha/Mercury also governs official paperwork and communications. In a similar vein, we can extend caution to storehouses which are storing grains to take every precaution against such fires. More details of this Yoga involving Śani/ Shani and Maṅgala/ Mangala occuring in Virgo/ Kanyā Rāśi/ Kanya Rashi in June, 2012 and its fallouts are given at the linked page on this website.

Cañdra/ Chandra, the transit Moon, has moved to Simha/ Leo and is mercifully unaspected both by Graha Dṛṣṭi/ Graha Drishti  planetary aspect-of course we are only discussing Pūrṇa Dṛṣṭi/ Purna Drishti full aspect of planets here-and by Rāśi Dṛṣti/ Rashi Drishti sign aspect.  A very feeble coaxing comes from Ravi/ the Sun to the Moon to get down to some work. The Moon in  its present state in the royal Leo is not inclined to get down and dirty.

Śukra/ Shukra Venus offers middling comfort by way of luxuries and Gurū/ Guru/ Jupiter also offers very miniscule crucible-type protection from Vṛṣabha/ Vrishabha/ Taurus in the 10th from Simha, conjoined Śukra/ Shukra. Similarly, Rāhu/ Rahu from Vṛṣcika/ Vrishchika-Āli/ Scorpio gives a gentle nudge to Cañdra/ Chandra to work, perhaps in psychology or research.

In itself, the queen of the zodiac is in the Bhāva  of the King-Ravi, the Sun and enjoying the lordly splendour of the Āditya/ Aditya. There is no Jala or Moon type enjoyment but there is the pure Agni of Ravi. There is the chance for some natives to enjoy non-whimsical power, both of the world (Cañdra/ Chandra) and of the soul (Ravi). Society has come to visit Power.

26th-28th June,  2012:

Cañdra/ Chandra is is Virgo/ Kanyā Rāśi/ Kanya Rashi joined the incendiary combination of Śani/ Shani/ Saturn and Maṅgala/ Mangala/ Mars. This transit can cause a focus on the issues that have arisen due to the malefic conjunction in the sign since the Moon takes the mind whereever it should go. This can also be a time for the forceful and firm realisation of dues from commercial transactions.

For those with an afflicted and delicate Moon (mind) the 27th aand 28th of June,  2012 can pose emotional issues and may make the native restive. The Moon is joined two dire malefics and the worst thing is that the danger continues through the sign since Śani/ Shani/ Saturn is quite close to the end of Kumārī Rāśi/ Kumari Rashi.

The situation will be far more noticeable at night since we speak of Cañdra/ Chandra the gentle luminary of the night and also Śani/ Shani and Maṅgala/ Mangala which are very strong to give their results at night.

29thJune -2nd of July,  2012:

This segment deals with four (4) days of the Cañdra/ Chandra/ the Moon Gocara rather than just two (2). For the first two days, the Moon is in Tulā Rāśi/ Tula Rashi/ Libra-on 29th and 30th of June, 2012. It is not conjoined or aspected by malefic planets but is in Pāpakartarī/ Papakartari Yoga formed by Śani/ Shani/ Saturn and Maṅgala/ Mars on the one hand in Kumārī Rāśi/ Kumari Rashi// Virgo and Rāhu/ Rahu in Āyuśa/ Ayusha debility in Vṛṣcika/ Vrishchika/ Scorpio. It is hemmed between dire malefics and so the mind feels trapped. It wants connection and social harmony, romance and shopping and what it gets is a sort of depressed imprisonment. For those with afflicted Cañdra/ Chandra in the nativity it will be all the more notable.

Then on the 1st and 2nd it conjoins Rāhu where the Moon becomes debilitated as well. Look out for trauma. Do your Maṅtras/ Mantra. With Rāhu/ Rahu an inexplicable hedonistic rush is also possible. If any further help was required from the Grahas, a nice little Kāla/ Kala Sarpa Yoga is also formed in Gocara as all the planets are hemmed between Rāhu/ Rahu and Ketu.

3rd-5th July,  2012:

Cañdra/ Chandra transits out of its malefic associations for the large part and moves to Dhanuṣa/ Dhanusha/ Sagittarius, a Rāśi/ Rashi ruled by Gurū/ Guru/ Jupiter and symbolising Dharma. People can expect good things during the Gocara of the benefic Moon in the sign of Jupiter. This can be a general estimate. Of course the 12th House aspect of Rāhu/ Rahu continues but this is to the sign of its fall and debility and so what is good and desirable can be expected to flourish. Further details can be had from a reference to the Ārūḍha/ Arudha Padas and their lords and significations. Cañdra Śāpa/ Chandra Shapa continues due to the Graha Dṛṣṭi/ Drishti/ planetary aspect of Maṅgala/ Mangala but then to the sign of Gurū/ Guru this could translate into upholding the realm of Gurū/ Guru.

It is also to be noted that this is Pūrṇimā/ Purnima Tithi and the Moon has a lot of Pakṣa/ Paksha Bala and strength here. Matters which may not be otherwise illuminated shall be illuminated during such a period. Agni Tattwa Grahas/ the fiery planets Ravi/ the Sun and Maṅgala/ Mangala/ Mars are aspecting the Moon and so fame, aggression, authority, initiative, pride, stature and leadership and similar qualities may come to the fore strongly.

Also the Moon transits Mūla Nakṣatra/ Moola Nakshatra in this Rāśi/ Rashi and will focus the mind on the root of past Karma or manifest matters which are focal as far as the Kārmic/Karmic destiny of the native is concerned. This can happen with people especially when they are running through Jyotiṣa periods which are qualified by a strong Kārmic element. This can be clear only through an interpretation of the nativity or perhaps by an evaluation of events through a specific time period which might qualify as being deep-rooted or otherwise inexplicable-this again has to be done by a practised eye.

5th-6th July,  2012:

It is time to enjoy a beautiful Rājayoga/ Rajayoga with Cañdra/ Chandra transiting Nakra/ Makara Rāśi/ Rashi (Capricorn) on the 5th and 6th of July, 2012. Firstly, the malefics have let the Moon breathe and secondly there is Rāśi Dṛṣṭi/ Rashi Drishti sign aspect of both Gurū/ Guru/ Jupiter and Śukra/ Shukra/ Venus to Capricorn. The aspect of two outright benefics on Cañdra/ Chandra ensures that work and social participation in work is blessed by both eternal wisdom, and practical and pragmatic awareness. Finances will be good due to the aspect of the transit Moon to Taurus/ Vṛṣabha/ Vrishabha, also the sign of exaltation for the Moon.

Gurū/ Guru also aspects the Moon with Graha Dṟṣṭi/ Drishti/ planetary aspect and makes this a transit full of grace and awareness and knowledge. One may be appreciated for one's work and talents. There may be consequent fame. Social participation will be auspicious though much of it may relate to work and service.

Budha/ Mercury though an enemy of Cañdra/ Chandra is also a natural benefic and aspects and infuses the mind with some positive and healing words. The impact of three great benefics on a fourth benefic makes this transit a benefic one, bereft of the struggle and suffering that might be faced in more adverse Jyotiṣa circumstances.

7th-9th July,  2012:

Cañdra/ Chandra the transit Moon is in Kuṃbha Rāśi/ Kumbha Rashi/ Aquarius on the 7th evening onwards. It is not conjoined any planets in this sign and neither does it receive the aspect of any Graha with Graha Dṛṣṭi/ Graha Drishti/ planetary aspect. there is the Rāśi Dṟṣṭi/ Rashi Drishti/  sign aspect of Budha/ Mercury which will facilitate communications. Kuṃbha/ Kumbha is a large sign and since this is the weekend, people may tend to feel like partying and indulging themselves, particularly in alcohol and such stimulants. There may be a lot of repartee, wit and humour and banter laced with stimulants.

People may not feel like working very hard and might want to take it easy. As always there is no stopping those with a fire in their belly-Cañdra/ Chandra and Gurū/ Guru are in keṅdra/ Kendra/ quadrants to each other and so form the Gajakeśarī/ Gajakesari Yoga leading to fame and accolades. This can bring money as well but people should ensure that the gains are genuine and not tainted with any kind of deceit.

9th-11th July, 2012:

Cañdra/ Chandra traverses the benefic Mīna/ Meena Pisces on the 9th, 10th and 11th of July, 2012. Matters related to Mīna/ Meena are likely to fructify. These could be spiritual experiences, expenses, meditation, travel and overall receptivity.

Cañdra/ Chandra the Moon receives the aspect of Maṅgala/ Mangala/ Mars, Śani/ Shani/ Saturn and Rāhu/ Rahu. Due to this it gets very afflicted. The Śani-Maṅgala/ Shani-Mangala Yoga aspects the Moon with both Rāśi/ Rashi and Graha Dṛṣṭi/ Drishti. Anger and attacks to the self-respect are likely and depending on the stage at which a specific horoscope is, the outcomes of such instances shall be reflected accordingly. However, even the shocking 9th House (reverse) aspect of Rāhu/ Rahu cannot take away from the fact that the domain is that of Gurū/ Guru/ Jupiter.

Ravi also aspects the transit Cañdra/ Chandra with Rāśi Dṛṣṭi/ Rashi Drishti and there is significant Agni Tattwa influence on the mind for Vāyu/ Vayu to reign without opposition. In fact, Vāyu/ Vayu will help Agni flare and sometimes it is an extremely important thing. Agni will burn away the dross.

The equation between Agni and Vāyu/ Vayu in the field of play of Jala/ water will depend on a complex evaluation of the horoscope. If no conspicuous Yogas illustrating this exist in the nativity then the transit will simply represent an element of conflict. But if such equations dp exist then the transits such as a present one can indicate a shift in the balance of power. It can also indicate a shifting of the Karma for some because Mīna/ Meena represents freedom from bondage and people may feel that some events help them to break free of a Karmic bondage. Such things simply must have the support of strong natural benefics.

11th-13th July, 2012:

The transit of the Moon to Aries will make for the planet receiving lesser malefic influence that it has during its sojourn in Mīna Rāśi/ Meena Rashi/ Pisces. While the field of play in the Jovian sign is gentle and receptive, the field of play in Meṣa/ Mesha is energetic and initiative oriented. Those who are interested in initiative at this point in time may find this transit of the Moon quite relevant.

Cañdra/ Chandra will receive the aspect of Maṅgala/ Mangala/ Mars from Kanyā Rāśi/ Kanya Rashi/Virgo as well and the aspect of Maṅgala/ Mangala is to its own sign. So, the mind will receive strong protection and drive in its quest for breakthroughs.

14th-16th July,  2012:

The days when Cañdra/ Chandra is exalted in Vṛṣabha Rāśi/ Vrishabha Rashi are bound to be good especially since there is Dwi-Gurū/ Guru Yoga in this sign at this time with the two preceptors Gurū/ Guru/ Jupiter and Śukra/ Shukra/ Venus placed in this sign. There will be a Gajakeśarī/ Gajakesari Yoga formed due to the conjunction of Gurū/ Guru and Cañdra/ Chandra in the Rāśi/ Rashi and also Vāhana/ Vahana Yoga formed by the conjunction of Śukra/ Shukra and Cañdra/ Chandra in the Rāśi/ Rashi. On the 14th of July, 2012 even though the exalted Moon is in Taurus there may be some unrest in the mind since Cañdra/Chandra will be exactly conjoined Ketu which causes Grahaṇa/ Grahana/ eclipse of the Moon.

There can be fame and people may be sought after for a variety of reasons related to Vṛṣabha/ Vrishabha which could be finance or speech or sustenance and the like. Due to the conjunction of Venus, the lord of Taurus and the exalted Moon there is a lot of Jala Tattwa. One will be able to connect with others and understand their point of view. This Yoga can also bring in money. In other words this Cañdra/ Chandra Gocara/ Moon transit is to be enjoyed since one will feel satisfied and content.

16th-18th July, 2012:

The transit Moon/ Cañdra/ Chandra ventures into Mithuna Rāśi/ Rashi/ Gemini where though it is not conjoined any malefics it does receive the Rāśi Dṛṣṭi/ Rashi Drishti/ sign aspect of both Śani/ Shani/ Saturn and Maṅgala/ Mangala/  Mars from Kumārī Rāśi/ Kumari Rashi/ Virgo.

Śani/ Shani also aspects with his 10th House aspect and so this could be a transit where one is required to work hard and write with discipline or communicate with discipline. This is also important because the lord of Mithuna Rāśi/ Rashi-Budha/  Mercury has become Vakra retrograde in Karkaṭa Rāśi/ Karkata Rashi/ Cancer. In the result both the transit lord of Cañdra/ Chandra and the Naisargika Kāraka/ Karaka natural significator of communications has become retrograde.

Budha when in an unafflicted state is a great natural benefic. Here it receives both the Graha Dṛṣṭi/ Drishti planetary aspect and Rāśi Dṛṣṭi/ Rashi Drishti of Rāhu/ Rahu and is also conjoined Ravi. Intelligence is high but the playful Budha will sit up and want to be noticed. So, one needs to guide one's communications well. This is eminently possible due to the Rāśi Dṛṣṭi/ Rashi Drishti of Gurū/ Guru and Śukra/ Shukra to Budha from Vṛṣabha Rāśi/ Vrishabha Rashi/ Taurus.

There is also a Gocara Parivartana between Budha and Cañdra/ Chandra and this exchange leads to communications related to home, properties, learning, healing, cure, social participation, support systems, playing a central pillar type role in ventures etc. The mind will be submerged in matters Mercurial.

One may be required to dig deep for effective solutions to the societal questions posed for resolution. Wealth will be a significant consideration. This could mean a focus on remuneration as well.

19th-20th July,  2012:

The work pressures of Śani Dṛṣṭi/ Shani Drishti/ Saturn aspect may cease when Cañdra/ Chandra/ the Moon moves to Karkaṭa Rāśi/ Karkata Rashi/  Cancer but then the Moon will be joined Ravi. Some may catch the tide.

Happiness/ Sukha will be the key theme. Budha/ Mercury is also placed there. Commerce, material pleasures and wealth will be the guiding considerations. The Vāra/  Vara involved are Gurūvāra/ Guruvara/  Thursday and Śukravāra/ Shukravara/ Friday.

Healing and inner sating will also be important.

21st to 23rd of July, 2012:

Transit Moon will be in Simha/ Leo ruled by the King of the zodiac, the Sun but this transit is afflicted due to the Pāpakartarī/ Papakartari Yoga formed by Ravi in Karkaṭa/ Karkata and Śani/ Shani/ Saturn and Maṅgala/ Mangala/ Mars in Kumārī/ Kumari/ Virgo Rāśi/ Virgo Rashi. On the one hand there is a Sāttwic/ Sattwic fire of Ravi burning the mind and on the other a raging Tāmasic/ Tamasic inferno. Caught up in this, the emotional cognizance will suffer and the mind will feel trapped wherever it is.

The field of operation is power and so either a feeling of powerlessness will grip the person or those in power may feel trapped. Maṅtras will be required to get over this Gochara of Cañdra/ Chandra.

Last week of July, 2012:

The last week of July, 2012 has been intense with Cañdra/ Chandra first in exacting Kanyā having become even more demanding and resolute due to the station of both Śani and Maṅgala in Virgo.

This was a little bit of a torrid time with the saving graces coming from Gurū/Bṛhaspati/Jupiter and its Graha Dṛṣṭi/ planetary aspect coming to the transit Moon and to the malefics stationed in Kumārī Rāśi.

The next Gocara of Cañdra to Tulā Rāśi/ Libra was hardly any better due to the fact that there was a Pāpakartarī Yoga operating on the transit Moon caight up between Śani-Maṅgala Yoga on the one hand and Rāhu on the other.Relationships and sexual issues or matters of intimacy would have been the most insistent for attention during this time. Also, things related to commerce and the market place. Between a rock and a hard place.

Thereafter the Moon actually got debilitated/Nīca in Vṛṣcika/Āli Rāśi and furthermore was conjoined Rāhu. This sojourn was replete with anxieties, doubts and fears and a feeling of emotional patheticness. Remedial measures are required for such continual Cañdra bashing.

The month ends with Cañdra in Dhanuṣa Rāśi/ Sagittarius and while the atmosphere is one of work and informed attention to work, the Graha Dṛṣṭi of Rāhu to the transit Moon and the Rāśi Dṛṣṭi/ sign aspect of Śani and Maṅgala ensure that the mind is not yet absolutely free of the torment.

1st-2nd of August, 2012-

The transit Moon moves to Nakra Rāśi/ Makara/ Capricorn during the 1st and 2nd of August and escapes from the malefics. As a bonus, it is also aspected by Gurū with a strong Graha and Rāśi Dṛṣṭi-planetary and sign aspect.

Effects of Paramparā Yoga may be felt and due to the impact of Rāhu deep, intuitive and inexplicable intellectual breakthroughs may also be forthcoming during this transit.

Makara is ruled by Śani and work would be required during this transit. It is the sort of work which happens in offices and is run-of-the-mill and routine in nature. For those who have been touched by the grace of Gurū, this daily work could be fuelled by perspective and divine blessings and developments in work could be illuminated with the knowledge of traditional wisdom and path-breaking rationality. Both or either.

The transit occurs on Budhavāra/ Wednesday and Gurūvāra/ Thursday which are days ruled by benefic planets. On Budhavāra commercial matters of a functional nature and communications  themselves would be dominant especially since Budha is Vakra/ retrograde and will call for attention.

3rd-4th of August, 2012-
With Cañdra in Kuṃbha Rāśi/ Aquarius on the 3rd and the 4th of August, the mind will expand and thoughts will not adhere to boundaries. Stimulants may rule the weekend for those who indulge.

The transit Moon is well placed in a quadrant from Gurū and so there is an opportunity for fame but there will be inexplicable Kārmic forces associated with these developments. The social and emotional intelligence will be guided by the power of discrimination.

5th-7th of August, 2012:

Cañdra transits out to Mīna Rāśi, the sign of the Ṛṣis. Here it is aspected by Maṅgala/ Mars from Kumārī Rāśi/ Virgo and also by Rāhu from Vṛṣcika/ Scorpio. Maṅgala aspects with Rāśi Dṛṣṭi/ sign aspect and also by planetary aspect. The 7th House aspect of Mars will not prove so conspicuous but the Rāśi Dṛṣṭi constitutes a strong circumstantial Śaśi-Maṅgala Yoga. This Yoga is good for finances and also brings a lot of energy and action to social participation. There is also an element of writing, drafting, knowledge and such Gurū and Budha dominated attributes due to the Rāśis in question belonging to the two great natural benefics.

Rāhu has a very hedonistic and anti-orthodox influence due to its 9th House aspect (counted in reverse) and also the fact that it is aspecting Mīna Rāśi. Śukra also aspects Cañdra with Rāśi Dṛṣṭi making the tendencies of wealth and income more dominant. If money was expected to come, it shall definitely come during this transit.

Also, to those who are positively influenced, the transit of Śani to Tulā Rāśi occuring within this time will also help and people will feel alleviated.

8th-9th of August, 2012-

The transit Moon travels across Pisces and moves to Aries. Mīna Rāśi and Meṣa Rāśi have a shared peculiarity in that there is a junctional region between them which partakes of the water and fire elements, which of course are opposed to each other. There is a Tattwa conflict here-the water tries to douse the fire and the fire makes the water boil. This is also the end of the Ganda-Mūla Nakṣatra and is therefore called the Gaṅdāṅta.

A cycle finishes and another starts since Mīna Rāśi is the last sign of the zodiac and Meṣa Rāśi is the first. Sometimes in nativities this can herald the end of one cycle and the commencement of another.

Meṣa Rāśi 'rams' into action. It is the sign of initiative and leadership. Just as two natural malefics aspected the Moon during its transit in Mīna, Śani and Maṅgala also aspect the transit Moon in Aries.

The most dominant feature of these two days is that Budha turns direct on the 8th of August, 2012. Mercury retrograde has caused a lot of communication issues to crop up and has led to very many misunderstandings in the written and spoken word. At the deeper level, Budha has been highly inward and spiritualised and this could have been a time for some to dig deep into spiritual literature and allied matters. Retrograde benefics like Gurū and Budha can bring deep insights into such matters which are usually not visible on the surface of things.

A retrograde planet travels back and gets what it needs for a given native. It is a deep Karmic obtaining. In direct motion though planets act in a more comprehensible manner, working with social and visible matters. A direct planet follows the light while a retrograde planet refrains from the usual.

Initiative of Meṣa Rāśi, coupled with the direct action of Budha could make for interesting times.

10th-11th of August, 2012:

Interesting it has been for many natives with the Cañdra Graha transiting in Meṣa Rāśi coupled with the other factors highlighted above. People have felt initiative and new beginnings in their lives and simple reportings of cranial discomfiture have not been the central feature of this Gocara as anticipated by many.

With Cañdra moving to Vṛṣabha Rāśi/ Taurus it will attain its sign of exaltation and the true meaning of esoteric wisdom and its strength will come through the Gajakeśarī Yoga formed by the conjunction of Gurū and Cañdra.

Fame, success and such qualities will accrue albeit in a spiritual atmosphere. If the spiritual context is missing then the mistakes and irritability factors can come in and affect the emotions and the mind. The Moon is happiest in Vṛṣabha and Gurū is guiding its enjoyments here. This can be a very fruitful transit for those who are aware how to follow it.

Guided social connnection will happen which is always crucial to those for whom this is a life path. There may be minor anxiety as Cañdra travels through the Rāśi Saṅdhi position in the early afternoon of the 10th of August, 2012 but this shall soon pass as the Moon moves further into its sign of exaltation and also because the wisdoms from the tradition is there for the taking in this sign. This could also be a time to enjoy the finer things in life since this is the promise of the field of play of Taurus/ Vṛṣabha. Meaningful conversations can happen due to the Gajakesarī Yoga just as banal ones can happen due to the association of the Moon/ Cañdra with Ketu.

People may have to handle the eclipse of the Moon called Grahaṇa by Ketu and the gentler feelings in the mind may take a little bit of a back seat as the malefic Ketu parches the luminary with its infra-red heat. The Grahaṇa is based on the Vāra Cakra.

13th-14th of August, 2012-

Cañdra traverses Mithuna Rāśi/ Gemini and joins Śukra. The sexual or romantic impulse may be high. Communications and writing may be suffused with romance and eroticism. Poetry and matters poetic may occupy the minds of men. Wealth generation based on writing and drafting and communications is a distinct possibility. A short drive in a long new car is possible for some since a Vāhana Yoga is formed due to the association of Śukra and Cañdra.

There is such preponderance of the malefic in life that the benefic association of Śukra and Cañdra hemmed between Gurū and Budha will make one forget the hemming between Ketu and Ravi. But readers would do well to remember it so that reminding becomes needless.

The transit is all about information and the Gurū-Upadeśa about important matters.

15th-16th of August,  2012-

The Moon transits to Cancer on the 15th and 16th of August, 2012 and joins Ravi/ the Sun and Budha/ Mercury. Cañdra owns Karkaṭa Rāśi and will be at home here. Home and family could come into focus. The dark Moon is all about materialism. Home comforts and possessions will be important during this transit. The wealth and resources of Ravi and the communications connected with these matters will also be quite crucial.

Rāhu aspects this Moon with its 5th House aspect from Āli/ Vṛṣcika/ Scorpio and Śani also aspects this with its 10th House aspect. The Moon is then afflicted by three malefic planets. Some people may be required to work very hard in pressured circumstances; the work will require a result-oriented application of intelligence to achieve results. This transit virtually coincides with the movement of Maṅgala/ Mars to Tulā Rāśi/ Libra after being in Kanyā for a long time.

17th-18th of August, 2012-

Cañdra moves to Simha Rāśi/ Leo on the 17th and 18th and this is the Amāvasyā Tithi as well showing a dark Moon. The transit is in the Maghā Nakṣatra in Leo which is symbolised by the royal palanquin. This is a transit of power and people either in power or aspiring for personal power are likely to feel a surge during this time. This is also for the reason that the warrior Yoga of Śani and Maṅgala aspects Simha Rāśi with Rāśi Dṛṣṭi/ sign aspect and further gives power and authority to the royal Simha.

Ravi is also out of the weak Gaṅdāṅta position and is better suited to help the mind grab the financial tide and the turn of events. Simha is a solitary and powerful sign and is the home of the King Ravi. It indicates rulership and with its lord Ravi in Simha in Gocara, natives of Simha Rāśi and Simha Lagna will feel as if they are now more themselves. Some may feel as if they have come or are coming into their own.

Such transits which indicate the coming together of several things can be important as they at once coalesce the transit of the Sun and Moon in Magha (throne) and in Simha/ Leo and also the Amāvasyā Tithi.

Perhaps the one aspect which deserves some introspection for people at large is the fact that Tulā is afflicted by Śani and Maṅgala and so partnerships and relationships of coercion may show up at this time. For a large number of people, the interesting thing would be that would not really will it to have such matters come to their lives but then such things would show up nevertheless. The best course to adopt would be to give these as wide a berth as possible.

Difficulty will come only if the aspiration (Kumbha) is improper and then the result (Tulā) would reflect that impropriety. If not, then force and impetus are likely to result in the right ways.

For some, for whom the tide is conclusively changing this transit will show itself in developments that are meaningful at their core and have a direct bearing on the crux issues in the life of the person.

19th to 21st of August, 2012-

Cañdra transits to Kanyā Rāśi and many people will find that the results of their labour accrue during this period. Cañdra is not free because there is Pāpakartarī Yoga on this sign being hemmed in between Ravi on the one hand and Śani and Maṅgala on the other. Ego and a bit of insanity might trouble those with delicate sensibilities but then Gurū aspects Cañdra with a magnificent Pañcama Bhāva Dṛṣṭi whereby wisdom and rulership over a subject are seen. Money can come in and so can insights about conservatism and focussed work. The environs will be focussed on material matters as Śukra forms the Vāhana Yoga due to the Rāśi Dṛṣṭi between Śukra and Cañdra.

22nd to 26th of August, 2012-

Cañdra is actually joined Maṅgala and Śani in Tulā Rāśi and therefore suffers affliction. Relationships and interaction will be hit. Emotional and pyschological turmoil results from such combinations and something similar happens when Cañdra moves to its sign of debility in Scorpio/ Vṛṣcika/ Āli and is joined Rāhu. Fears and anxieties might plague the mind and it is the protection of Gurū which helps since this Graha aspects the transit Moon and still forms the Gajakesarī Yoga. Excellence will be appreciated but may come laced with such emotional setbacks or at least a depressed and subdued mind. There is some poison in this sign and it may spew forth despite other factors. The Paramparā Yoga of Gurū and Ketu can help with wisdom and understanding and the divine grace of Gurū. Achievement of a high order may come but it will come with humility. Budha aspects the Yoga with Rāśi Dṛṣṭi/ sign aspect and money-news could boslter the mood somewhat.

27th August to 1st of September,2012-

One was not able to write for a few days but then people have felt potent and powerful and some of the stronger traits in the personality have emerged. This has happened with Ravi transiting to Simha/Leo its own Rāśi. Ravi is both the soul and the egoic pride of the Kālapuruṣa and natives at various points of their journey will experience either or both facets of the Graha that indicates the King. Agni will be in evidence.

Śrī Praṇab Mukherjee has taken over as the Hon'ble President of India and with his political attainments he is a gentleman eminently suited to the position. The President is the head of the Constitutional hierarchy and therefore the position is signified by the great Ravi. All power of the Union of India is vested in the President of India. While he may not have much role to play in the day to day functioning of the Union Government, all actions are taken in his name. With the Sun in such strength in Leo, we can venture that we have a man of stature sitting on the constitutional throne.

Cañdra has been moving through Dhanuṣa, Nakra and Kumbha Rāśis in the meantime. In Dhanuṣa the emotions were at a nadir and people may have felt depressed and lowly due to the Graha Dṛṣṭi of Rāhu and Śani on the transit Moon. Dhanuṣa is also the sign of fall or debilitation for Rāhu and therefore somel lesser thoughts may have prevailed on the mind during this time. Thereafter in Makara/Nakra/ Capricorn Rāśi, Maṅgala/ Mars aspected the Moon and there may have been bouts of anger and a strong urge for accomplishment in daily work. Also, the Moon in Kumbha coincided with Pūrṇimā Tithi and therefore could have served as a reprieve for the otherwise oppressed Cañdra.

11-13th September, 2012-

Feelings, passions and money rule this period. The gentle luminary Cañdra transits Karkaṭa Rāśi its own sign. Cañdra is a Jala Tattwa Graha and indicates participation and social interaction. Though the feelings of competition are strong and some of these can deteriorate due to the Graha Dṛṣṭi of Śani to the Gochara Cañdra, there is tremendous good cheer due to the conjunction of Śukra with Cañdra in a watery sign. This is also the Vāhana Yoga showing great comforts in vehicles and conveyances. Abundance is a function of Jala and while for some the aspects of Śani and Rāhu parch the Jala, for most there will be either funds accruing or would be in the pipeline.

There will be a focus on the home and on bringing in items of beauty and luxury into the home. With Śani conjoined Maṅgala in Tulā Rāśi/ Libra and also aspecting the transit factor of the Moon there may be troubles in works related to plumbing, construction, servants and such areas.

16-18th of September, 2012-

This period in September will be important because it coincides with the Amāvasyā Tithi/ the New Moon. This is the commencement of a cycle and it is all the more conspicuous because Budha/ Mercury has become exalted in Kumārī Rāśi. Virgo is the functional domain of Mercury and its exaltation indicates a high point in trade, commerce and rationality. Transactional work will become focal and communications, writing, emails and such within the framework of money making and work will be highlighted.

Virgo is a sign of yield and so accruals can be expected during this transit of the Moon in September. The Prime Minister has given a statement (for some this itself will be a sign that Budha has become exalted!) that pessimism must end in the economy and must be replaced by a positive outlook. Budha also receives the excellent Gyāna Dṛṣṭi of Gurū-its 5th Bhāva aspect and so Budha is guided in his thoughts-in other words intellect and thought-processes will be guided by a higher wisdom which strengthens Mercury considerably. Ravi/ the Sun is very weak being in Saṅkrāṅti Doṣa at this time and when the Saṅdhi period is over in a day or two, the harvest ought to come in.

With the exaltation of Budha the deeper and exalted matters related to it in certain nativities will come through. It could be an insight into the role being played by Budha in the chart, or some questions about this planet will receive answers at this point-this will vary in depth, importance and structure based on the horoscope in question.

19th-22nd of September,  2012-

The transit Moonhas had a bit of a torrid time recently during its journey in Tulā Rāśi where Śani and Maṅgala are placed and then in debility in Vṛṣcika where Rāhu was waiting for it. The Moon has first been battered, albeit in an atmosphere of the luxurious and the corporate, that of glitter and the busy life. Thereafter there was a submergence into the depths. While submerged, the mind and the emotional peception was gobbled up alive by aspiration and ambition, by delusion and not knowing. To escape from this to Dharma and knowing, and the grace of a functional wisdom, it has to cross over a terrible threshold where an old water threatens to douse a forthcoming fire-the Agni of purity while Agni, the primary impulse wants to burn the water. Elemental realities (Tattwa) cannot be changed and so the battle will continue another day after the 22nd but the mind will leave the watery depths and come to a position of Kārmic initiative after the 22nd.

2nd-4th of October, 2012-

Gāṅdhī Jayaṅtī brings with it an aspect of an exalted Śani to the transit Cañdra. While Saturn may be exalted in Libra in the sidereal zodiac, the Moon transits Aries/ Meṣa Rāśi. What this means is that the aspect of the exalted Śani is on its sign of debility/ Nīca Rāśi. This can make for a repressed state of mind where sickness coerces and the possibility of the negative happening can plague the native. Budha/ Mercury is also aspecting the transit Moon and the rational mind may kind of oppress the gentler Moon with ultra-realistic thoughts. 'The world is a market place, you have to know what sells, what are the going rates, and place yourself accordingly...et al'.
Of course as often stated, one has to apply all these things in the context of what is transpiring in a given nativity.

There are many other changes with Maṅgala/ Mars moving to Scorpio and joining Rāhu there. There will be a new belligerance to matters, an expression of the hitherto hidden. The forthright Mars comes to its own sign and so forthrightness will be in evidence. There may be Agni dominated forays into the esoteric which basically means that the investigations into lesser known areas of scientific research (R & D) as well as those into the ancient arts of India would become more logical and penetrating.

At the highest level, and this will show up in some charts, the purpose of the great Ṛṣis will be in evidence in chosen lives and these changes need to be attended to and understood carefully. If one is meant to, and adheres to this, with care, the results can be heartening.

4th-6th of October, 2012-

The emotional and social tide turns somewhat with Cañdra exalted in Vṛṣabha Rāśi with Gurū and Ketu. The exalted Moon brings an element of comfort and pleasantness to the mind. There is Gajakeśarī Yoga formed due to the union of Jupiter and the Moon which leads to success in undertakings, appreciation and fame as a consequence thereof. There is Gurū-Maṅgala Yoga also formed due to the Samasaptaka Graha Dṛṣṭi of Gurū and Maṅgala to each other.

Śaśi-Maṅgala Yoga is also formed due to the mutual aspect of Mars and the Moon on each other. These are all good Yogas. The presence of the Nodes operates as a check. People reading this should embrace the higher significations of Ketu in its impact of the Parampara Yoga.

6th-8th of October, 2012-

The transit Moon travels to Mithuna/ Gemini and here it is relatively unafflicted. The one problem is the aspect of Maṅgala/ Mangala/ Mars which aspects it by planetary aspect/ Graha Dṛṣṭi/ Drishti. This can lead to accidents, cuts, bruises and injuries especially since the aspect of Mars is to an inimical sign lorded by Budha/ Mercury.

Anger in the thoughts and aggression can be dominant themes especially because Rāhu/ Rahu is joined Maṅgala/ Mangala.

9th-11th of October, 2012-

Cañdra/ Chandra moves to Karkaṭa/ Karkata and people would similarly like to go home. Home and home comforts shall beckon. Śani/ Shani and Rāhu/ Rahu aspect the Gochara Cañdra/ Chandra with Graha Dṛṣṭi/ Drishti. After the great impulse of Maṅgala/ Mangala, it is now time for the thinking inspired by Vāyu/ Vayu. Thoughts will come and go and the Dṛṣṭi/ Drishti of Śani/ Shani to Cañdra/ Chandra ensures that work will be aplenty. Hard work and application in work will be required. Likewise, traditional modes of thinking and adherence to the established might be put aside for a while.

For those who seek to break the mould, so to speak, this is a good time to do so. A lot of information as to how to change will be forthcoming-this will be deep and tortuous information and will attempt to alter the frameworks of the mind.

11th-13th of October,  2012-

The pressures abate somewhat and the conjunction of Śukra/ Shukra and Cañdra/ Chandra in the skies brings some emotion to the people, otherwise parched by the Vāyu/ Vayu impact on the mind for the past two days. The Jala Tattwa Grahas Śukra/ Shukra and Cañdra/ Chandra are Kārakas/ Karakas for emotions and the flow of things and placed in the royal Simha, they create a Rājayoga/ Rajayoga.

Heavy emotions may be a hallmark of political and governmental activity and passions may fly high. This Yoga is also Rudra Yoga and power struggles and such matters may come to the forefront during this transit.

Jala brings money and for those who were facing a dry period as far as the influx of money goes this is the time when the money is likely to come in. This will come through matters indicated by Leo which shows the echelons of power and authority as well as a subject over which one has complete authority (Rājya/ Rajya-the root of Rājayoga/ Rajayoga).

It is better if this Rāśi/ Rashi is associated with a wealth giving Bhāva in the Rāśi/ Rashi Chakra. This is also a time for fame and power since Gajakeśarī Yoga/ Gajakesari Yoga is formed between Gurū/ Guru and Cañdra/ Chandra as they are in Keṅdra/ Kendra to each other, Gurū/ Guru being in Vṛṣabha Rāśi/ Vrishabha Rashi.

Romance is the other facet which will emerge as dominant during this transit. Śukra/ Shukra is the Kāraka/ Karaka for romantic love and Cañdra/ Chandra is the Kāraka/ Karaka for feelings in general. When both these planets are together feelings of all sorts erupt. Simha is otherwise a fiery, rules-oriented authoritative Rāśi/ Rashi and emotions are not natural here. Simha is symbolised by a lion, a solitary, powerful and somewhat dangerous beast. If watched from a distance it is all quite royal and fantastic but get too close and the picture may change drastically. People can be surprised at the raw hunger (also for power) and the focus on all that emerges from the self. Simha is magnanimous, but only when allowed to be-if pushed and directed it will not reciprocate well.

Vehicles will also come into prominence during this Gochara of the Moon since this is the Vāhana/ Vahana Yoga and indicates pleasure from vehicles. Some might find themselves going for long drives and end up admiring the car itself. This may tend to happen more with powerful vehicles (tech specs) and vehicles belonging to powerful people.

17th-19th of October, 2012-

It has been a busy last few days with the transit Moon associating with several planets. During its movement in Libra/ Tulā Rāśi/ Tula Rashi, the transit Moon was joined Śani/ Shani and Budha. It made for some hard work and heavy communications. Some of it could have been relationships and business oriented.

During this transit though there is Saṅkrāṅti Dośa/ Sankranti Dosha and Ravi is changing signs. It has just moved out from Kanyā Rāśi/ Kanya Rashi and has entered Tulā/ Tula where it is debilitated. It is also joined Śani/ Shani and Budha. Ravi will gain strength as it moves in Tulā/ Tula and comes out of Rāśi Saṅdhi/ Rashi Sandhi where it is at its weakest. We could see an escalation of conflict between authority figures and highly placed government officials and politicians on the one hand and the common people on the other.

The Moon is Nīca/ Neecha/ debilitated but joins the lord of its Nīca Rāśi/ Neecha Rashi which cancels its debilitation. This Yoga is also joined Rāhu/ Rahu which lends it tremendous energy and also adds to its intensity. The Cañdra-Maṅgala/ Chandra-Mangala Yoga so formed can lead to wealth for those in whose charts the combinations relate to wealth giving houses.

Intimacy can be fraught with conflict during this time. People of a certain type may be compelled to get off the high horse they have been astride. Since these two signs are so heavily populated at this time, those educated in the art may relate the transits based on which Bhāvas/ Bhavas from the Udaya Lagna are occupied by these Rāśis/ Rashis in the radix. One can also judge it from the Ārūḍha/ Arudha Lagna.

The occult, research, hidden things emerging, sudden events, windfall may all show up.

The transit of Śukra/ Shukra/ Venus to Kanyā/ Kanya/ Virgo on 23rd October, 2012-

Śukra/ Shukra has been transiting in the royal Simha but there has been too much fire and authority in the Rāśi/ Rashi for its liking. Śukra/ Shukra/ Venus is a Graha of pleasure, luxury and comforts and though it will bring these to the king in Leo, it is now moving on to Virgo in the evening of 23rd October, 2012.

This happens in the Navarātrī- the nine days of the Goddess and the Jala tattwa of this planet shows the Divine Mother. With the movement of the planet to Kumārī/ Kumari, the focus will come to earthly (read material) pleasures. People will be willing to participate in the immediately manifest and proximate world and beauty will come from the commonplace. The elevated experience will come from spirituality and the achievement of a higher consciousness which will sublimate Venus.

At the same time the Graha will be Nīca/ Neecha or debilitated and people must ensure that thay do not immerse themselves too much in the darkness of matter without perspective. One must always know and then the Devī/ Devi will grant her bounties. If one rushes headlong into matter then Venus will indeed fall and one may indulge too much in a blind way. We should also remember that Rāhu/ Rahu goes to work in this sign and desire can become a goal in itself-with Śukra/ Shukra here these elements can be heightened.

On the 23rd of October, 2012 Cañdra/ Chandra, the Moon, the other Graha indicating Jala tattwa is also in Tṛkoṇa/ Trikona trines to Venus and causes a lot of emotion and desire realting to issues of wealth, sustenance and assets. Depending on the roles being played by the Rāśis/ Rashis in question in various nativities, the results will be felt accordingly.

24th-26th October, 2012-

Cañdra/ Chandra moves to Kumbha on Vijaya Dashamī/ Dashami Tithi marking an end of the return of Bhagwāna Śrī Rāma/ Bhagwana Shri Rama to Ayodhyā/ Ayodhya after vanquishing Rāvaṇa/ Ravana in battle and retrieiving Sītā/ Sita from Laṅkā/ Lanka (Kumbha Rāśi/ Rashi).

Budha is in Rāśi Saṅdhi/ Rashi Sandhi where communications can tend to be either vulnerable in themselves or about acute and vulnerable subjects. Śukra/ Shukra is also weak in Rāśi Saṅdhi/ Rashi Sandhi. These are junctional regions where the qualities of a Rāśi/ Rashi have not been fully felt by the Graha and so its significations become stressed.

As far as Mercury goes the matters of the market place and being replaced by communications of great depth and Venus changes from the stern Simha where the focus is on learning, development and authority (personal power) to the pragmatic Kanyā/ Kanya where the environment will be exacting for Venus.

Aquarius is about sating and width. Laziness may come upon people like a swarm, a blanket and they will be content to rest. It is also a sign of great width (read, anything goes) and so some inculcated self-control, perspective and discipline can come in handy.

29th-31st of October, 2012-

Cañdra/ Chandra transits through Meṣa Rāśi/ Mesha Rashi/ Aries and comes under the influence of the exalted Śani/ Shani and Nīca/ Neecha Ravi. There is a powerful desire for both work and reward and the mind is receptive to the somewhat opposed forces of hard labour and resources simpliciter. The Moon has also had the occasion to traverse the Gaṅdāṅta/ Gandanta, the junctional region between water and fire and will emerge. There may be exasperation and a desire to reap quick rewards but things will tend to be quite illuminated in the mind and in social interaction due to the Pūrṇimā Tithi/ Purnima or the full Moon.

It is in this context that the quality of initiative and leadership becomes important because Cañdra/ Chandra is in Meṣa Rāśi/ Mesha Rashi and being the first sign of the zodiac it shows the first step and the initiation. The combined energies of the Sun-Saturn conjunction will be there as well directly influencing the mind and so it will be a mixed bag.

3rd-5th November,  2012-

Cañdra/ Chandra moves to Mithuna Rāśi/ Rashi or Gemini and is unafflicted by the malefic influence of planets. It receives the Rāśi Dṛṣṭi/ Rashi Drishti/ sign aspect of Nīca Śukra/ Neecha Shukra. For those who have seen Jerry Mcguire, the transit can be phrased as 'I want you to show me the money!'.

Śukra and Cañdra (Shukra and Chandra) form the Vāhana/ Vahana Yoga and so much Jala/ water makes for a Dhana Yoga. Significant money can come in-the only thing is that it may either come in ordinary circumstances or someone in the equation will feel small and humble. The quantum of the money remains unaffected by all this and wealth comes in abundance. In some cases, the wealth itself may not come but its indications and communications (Mithuna) willl come instead. These will be equally heartening.

13th November, 2012- Diwālī/ Diwali (Dīpāwalī/ Deepawali)

Cañdra/ Chandra is in Tulā Rāśi/ Tula Rashi on Dīpāwalī/ Deepawali the festival of lights in India. It is a New Moon on which this festival is celebrated and signals the Financial New Year. The dark Moon is material in nature and has the propensity to catch the tides of wealth. Godddess Lakshmī/ Lakshmi is worshipped on this day.

Śani/ Shani is exalted in Tulā/ Tula and Ravi/ the Sun is Nīca/ Neecha/ debilitated. This is a very intense combination where the ego is at an alltime low and many rituals will be performed in this dark Moon. Be very careful where you get your ritualistic advice from during this time since the practitioners of the dark arts will also be active apart from those practising Sāttwic Kālikā/ Sattwic Kalika worship.

There is a new beginning happening in corporate affairs and the persence of exalted Śani/ Shani indicates the significations of Saturn playing a very important part in financial matters this year. Venus will rule and so opulence and managerial matters will be ever present. Companies will play a stalwart role with huge benefits coming from political and governmental power centres. The latter will have to accede to companies. At another level egoic resistance has to give way to structural-functional requirements which will bring about massive monies.

Women are likely to hold centre-stage in all these matters due to the lordship of Venus, the Bhāveśa/ Bhavesha.

Solar Eclipse/ Sūrya Grahaṇa/ Surya Grahana-

The solar eclipse occurs with Leo rising for India and in Scorpio rising for Australia. It occurs in Tulā/ Tula/ Libra-Meṣa/ Mesha/ Aries axis and this relevance has to be seen for each horoscope.

The Solar Eclipse follows a major Amāvasyā/ Amavasya Tithi and involves Saturn and the Moon as well. Due to the major affliction to the Sun, some health issues are possible since Ravi is Nīca/ Neecha and conjoined Śani/ Shani and is further eclipsed by Rāhu/ Rahu, the North Node of the Moon. The eclipses has extremely far reaching consequences, which are not capable of being captured in this brief note. These effects can last for as many as eighteen (18) years and can indicate a paradigm shift in life patterns in some sphere or the other.

This eclipse occurs just after midnight and in the early hours of November 14, 2012.

16th-18th of November, 2012-

Cañdra/ Chandra transits to Dhanuṣa Rāśi/ Dhanusha Rashi/ Sagittarius and joins Mars/ Maṅgala/ Mangala. This is a Yoga for wealth accruing out of law, teaching, finance and esoteric arts.

Despite the transit of the Moon in a sign of Gurū/ Guru/ Jupiter, it is quite badly afflicted. With Mars it is susceptible to rage and anger, fights and sudden rushes of blood to the head. It is aspected by the 12th Bhāva aspect of Rāhu/ Rahu and brings anxieties and fears related to losses and defeats. Śani/ Shani also aspects the Moon with its 3rd Bhāva/ Bhava aspect asking it to work and work and try and garner resources for survival.

These are heady times with the eclipse and the Dīpāwalī Amāvasyā/ Deepawali Amavasya just having happened. Ravi has moved out of its association with Śani/ Shani where He was quite badly damaged in debility and so the effects of Ravi being placed in a friendly sign after the eclipse shall be felt. Ravi was at its lowest ebb recently with its Nīcāvasthā/ Neechavastha and junction with Saturn. It may still be joined Rāhu/ Rahu but as it moves out of the Rāśi Saṅdhi/ Rashi Sandhi and gains in degrees it will give better results in the areas of resources, leadership, power and fame.

What is more even Venus/ Śukra/ Shukra is changing signs and the debilitated Venus is moving into its Mūlatṛkoṇa Rāśi Tulā/ Moolatrikona Rashi Tula/ Libra where it will be hard at work in the sphere of corporate activities, design, fashion, luxury and clothing. Relationships which have been under stress will improve and there will be measures and realistic steps taken.

Many other subtle effects can be seen based on each horoscope and its important divisional charts/ Varga Cakras.

23rd-24th November, 2012-

Not happy, isn't it, with the Moon in Pisces. Things are emotional and vulnerable with anger and confusion and doubt adding to the picture. Mars/ Maṅgala/ Mangala aspects the transit Cañdra/ Chandra with both Rāśi/ Rashi and Graha Dṛṣṭi/ Drishti making it a situation where the workings of the brain and circumstances both lead to irritability and fights. Rāhu/ Rahu also aspects with Graha Dṛṣṭi/ Drishti and it will show up hedonism and materialism as more realistic alternatives to spirituality as a mode of living.

Ravi may not be debilitated any longer and it may not be joined Śani/ Shani but it is still in the depth of Vṛṣcika/ Vrishchika/ Scorpio where the self is compelled to dive deep. Rāhu/ Rahu obscures the Sun and changes of great importance are coming to pass.

25th-27th of November, 2012-

The Moon has ventured to Aries and is aspected by Venus, Saturn and Mercury from Libra. The only malefic aspect is that of Śani/ Shani and so this is a transit which makes people take their first steps in a given direction. The aspect of Śukra/ Shukra forms Rudra/ Vāhana/ Vahana Yoga and leads to enjoyments and luxuries-people may indulge in the good things of life such as parties, dining out, shopping and entertainment. The aspect of Budha lends some vacillation to the mind and people will be beset with issues related to work and income. In itself, the Moon is strong if somewhat abrasive.

19th of December, 2012-

Things have been better with the Sun/ Ravi moving out of Āli/ Scorpio and out of the Grahaṇa/ Grahana Yoga with Rāhu/ Rahu. Rāhu/ Rahu itself is moving out of Vṛṣcika/ Vrishchika and is right at the border of Tulā/ Tula/ Libra and Scorpio, with a few minutes of arc remaining in Scorpio.

The direct motion of Mercury/ Budha has also made a significant difference in the way things have been and matters have started moving finally.

24th of December,  2012-

Rāhu/ Rahu has changed signs and has moved to Libra/ Tulā Rāśi/ Tula Rashi joining Śani/ Shani there. Its movement out of Vṛṣcika Rāśi/ Vrishchika Rashi is good and depending where Libra is in a given horoscope, the winds of change would blow accordingly. Libra can be similarly examined in the Varga Chakras as well.

The only difficulty at this time is that Cañdra/ Chandra is in Meṣa Rāśi/ Mesha Rashi/ Aries making for aggression and initiative, competitiveness. The transit Moon suffers the aspects of Śani/ Shani and Rāhu/ Rahu and Maṅgala/ Mangala through Graha Dṛṣṭi/ Drishti/ planetary aspect and also suffers the eclipse of Ketu which is conjoined. This can lead to emotional problems and an afflicted mind.

27th to 29th of December,2012-

The Moon's transit in Gemini appears uncomplicated enough but on closer examination reveals the direct influence of the Sun and Rāhu/ Rahu. This in fact badly afflicts the Moon and the mind may register offence to the pride and self-respect. The Sun wants the mind to feel the benefits of communications and commerce, but Rāhu/ Rahu will not allow it in this manner and there will be some discontent and conflict.

The Sun would want words to serve values while Rāhu/ Rahu would want to break free of some patters which the native might perceive as constricting. This could relate to matters of pleasure, luxury, vacations, intimacy, marriage and such significations.

6th-7th of January, 2013-

There may be feelings of depression and emptiness especially when it comes to matters of beauty, luxury, women, marriage and relationships. There is a feeling of separation from these and the bitter cold is not helping the mind any. The transit Cañdra/ Chandra/ the Moon afflicted by the combination of Rāhu and Śani (Rahu and Shani) indicates this in the transit chart.

The positives are that there is a lot of work related energy to deal with this and to develop ideas.

8th-9th of January, 2013-

Though the transit Moon is debilitated in Scorpio on the 8th and 9th of January, 2013 and makes the mind go deep into the state of affairs, the whole subject matter of changes and transformations, it does receive the benefic aspect of a retrograde Jupiter from Taurus and this forms the Gajakesarī/ Gajakesari Yoga.

Depending on the axis occupied by the Moon and Jupiter in the natal horoscope, chances of fame and appreciation, wealth and understanding coming through to people are quite high. Victory and success can be forthcoming albeit in a rather stressed and severe scenario.

24th-25th of February, 2013-

Śani/ Shani brings home some heavy sensations with its aspect to the transit Moon in Karkaṭa/ Karkata/ Cancer. Negativity, some sort of unpleasant events, being compelled, or forced to experience unpleasantness are some of the results of this transit.

However, the Moon is set to travel to Leo/ Simha where it will receive the aspect of as many as four (4) planets from Kumbha/ Aquarius. Budha/ Mercury is also retrograde and the high speed communications and transactions of the recent past have slowed down somewhat. Old news may come in.

27th February, 2013-

Cañdra/ Chandra/ the Moon has been transiting the royal sign of Leo/ Simha and so it is a time for haughty indulgences. Simha is resplendent and so will this transit be due to the Kāma Dṛṣṭi/ Kama Drishti of several Grahas from Kumbha/ Aquarius. However, it moves to Kanyā/ Kanya/ Virgo as well and so communications and work related expressions will hold sway.

The transit dispositor of the Moon, Budha is Vakra/ retrograde and so communications snafus, revisiting past communications and taking up where you left off will all come into play. Virgo is quite exacting and perfectionist by nature and needs to get this perfectly right. This is a motivated place where the theme is to act for well-defined contemporaneous rationale. With Mercury extremely strong in transit, it is time to delve deep from a position of strength and to use the great energies available. It is like an engine revving up so that the vehicle may then shoot forward.

Transit Mercury also receives the fantastic 5th house planetary aspect from Jupiter which infuses knowledge into the enterprise. The Gajakesarī Yoga happening during the Simha Gocara transmutes to this combination. The Pañcama Bhāva Graha Dṛṣṭi/ Panchama Bhava Graha Drishti of Gurū/ Guru to Cañdra/ Chandra imparts eternal wisdom to the mind. Jupiter is also moving in direct motion and so the infusion is pragmatic and entirely workable due to the involvement of the earth signs.

The planetary aspect of Mars brings the protective energies to play upon the mind.

3rd March, 2013-

The transit Moon leaves Libra and so Cañdra/ Chandra moves to Vṛṣcika/ Vrishchika/ Scorpio, its sign of debility. While in Tulā/ Tula, the luminary was joined two dire malefics, Śani and Rāhu (Shani and Rahu), here it is only the debilitation and there are no malefic conjunctions oppressing the emotional environment. On the contrary, Gajakesarī Yoga is being formed due to the mutual aspect of Gurū and Cañdra/ Guru and Chandra. With a host of planets in the Sthira Rāśi/ Rashi/ fixed signs, this is a heady time for those with important radical locations in these signs such as the Ascendant, Ārūḍha Lagna/ Arudha Lagna, Cañdra/ Chandra Lagna, and the Viśeṣa/ Vishesha Lagna or the special ascendants. The single malefic aspect of Rāhu/ Rahu to the Moon fuels desire and ambition.

6th March, 2013-

Cañdra/ Chandra has moved to Dhanu Rāśi/ Rashi and out of its debilitation on Vṛṣcika/ Vrishchika. The mind was troubles due to the debility of the Moon and there was this searing wet heat that encased the gentle Moon. People may have noted irritability and tempers rising as Cañdra/ Chandra traversed the Gaṅdāṅta/ Gandanta position between Scorpio and Sagittarius where the conflict of the elemental realities is very evident. As the Moon travels across the initial part of Sagittarius, deep, fundamental and core issues surrounding existence will reveal themselves. These are very important parts of one's life. The sign is lorded by Gurū/ Guru and indicates the working of this benevolent planet. There is an aspect of Śani/ Shani as well. There will be a desire for hard work and awareness both in the mind.

If things are adverse at this time, then one may feel as if one is being compelled to work very hard.

8th March,  2013-

While the other planets remain in the same positions, it is the transit Moon which moves to Capricorn/ Makara. While in Dhanuṣa/ Dhanusha/ Sagittarius the transit Moon was in a Rāśi/ Rashi ruled by Gurū/ Guru/ Jupiter it also happened to be in the 8th House from the Gochara Gurū/ Guru in Vṛṣabha Rāśi/ Vrishabha Rashi. This is called Śakaṭa/ Shakata Yoga in Jyotiṣa/ Jyotisha and indicates great difficulties and obstacles and in the nativity requires some other features to modify the results.

In Makara however, Cañdra/ Chandra receives the 9th House aspect of the transit Jupiter, even though the sign is that of debility of the planet Jupiter. This brings protection to the mind. The Moon is also relieved of the depressing 3rd House aspect of Śani/ Shani to the transit Moon. Capricorn is related to work and while it can precipitate confusion in this area, if one is clear of one's attitude about work, then these issues may not come to pass. It actually depends which house is being occupied by this Rāśi/ Rashi in the horoscope.

Work hard but retain perspective. Śani's/ Shani's command is hard work.

The feedback from the aware populace is that the work component has increased substantially and that Gurū/ Guru has been guiding professionals in pragmatic matters (Nakra) rather than the purely esoteric or conceptual matters (Dhanuṣa). Even so the nature of Gurū/ Guru has not changed and the Jñāna/ Jnana which comes from the Preceptor has been informing the work ethic over the weekend.

10th March-11th March, 2013-

The status-quo alters again with the Moon moving to the large Aquarius on 10th March, 2013 and joining a host of other planets, these being Ravi, Śukra/ Shukra, and Budha. This combination is also aspected by Rāhu/ Rahu with its Vakra 9th Bhāva/ Bhava aspect from Tulā Rāśi/ Tula Rashi/ Libra.

The poison churns and depending on the Karma, the poison shall emerge in people's lives. It could be something as commonplace as intoxicants and having 'a night on the town' or something more sinister. Too much indulgence in carnal matters, and an over-exuberant display of hedonism is also likely, what with the Rudra Yoga formed by Śukra/ Shukra and Cañdra/ Chandra and also the Graha Dṛṣṭi/ Drishti of Rāhu/ Rahu, the Kāraka/ Karaka of hedonistic thought.

Light has to come through to the darkness for a large section of humanity to see some sort of sense in this. For this people dominated by Gurū/ Guru either generally or at this time are the best especially as Gajakesarī/ Gajakesari Yoga is also formed between Jupiter and the Moon, these Grahas being in mutual quadrants from each other. There is a major propensity for fame and money to come in for some during the transit of the Moon in Kumbha Rāśi/ Rashi due to these factors.

Very soon, on the 11th of March, 2013 opportunities will come and will be caught hold of by those who understand these things.

anuraag9@gmail.com

12th-14th of March, 2013-

With Cañdra/ Chandra moving to Mīna Rāśi/ Meena Rashi and joining Maṅgala/ Mangala, the energies of Mars join those of the Moon and form the Śaśi-Maṅgala/ Shashi-Mangala Yoga. This is a specific Yoga for monetary advantage and gain.

Pisces is a watery and receptive sign. It also indicates release. One will be required to choose the current of thought and action and in which direction to flow. Once this is decided the transit should be quite good. Mercury continues to be retrograde through Wednesday and will try hard to be noticed. Web transactions and communications should be watched carefully and if Budha is guided carefully, then he will yield in Kumbha Rāśi/ Rashi.

anuraag9@gmail.com

15th-16th March, 2013-

The position of the planets changes during this period between 15th and 16th of March, 2013 and Ravi, the King of the cosmos, changes signs from Kumbha/ Aquarius to Mīna/ Meena/ Pisces. This is a good transit and the Sun will give better results in the sign ruled by Jupiter/ Gurū/ Guru, its friends. Interaction across oceans could happen and there could be soul level understanding forthcoming in these two days.

The Sun is joined Mars/ Maṅgala/ Mangala, its Commander-in-Chief, in Pisces and the two Agni Tattwa or fiery Grahas join hands. This is a time for power and logic and forceful expression of one's inner truths. But this will only come after Ravi is rid of the initial Saṅkrāṅti Dośa/ Sankranti Dosha. During this time there could be a dip in resources and power and pride, which are the core significations of the Sun, amongst others.

The emotions and psychology also have to manage the effect of Vāyu/ Vayu and Agni both. The Moon is aspected by Śani and Rāhu (Shani and Rahu) from Libra/ Tulā Rāśi/ Tula Rashi and is joined Ketu in Grahaṇa/ Grahana Yoga or eclipse. Some irrational and hurtful things could come to the find and one could succumb to unthinking behaviour or be subjected to it. The best thing is to be informed of this Karma unfolding and let it pass without creating problems. This is also because Budha is retrograde and while a natally strong Budha can emerge even stronger with a lot of effort going in to communications, readings, argumentation, rationality, and other such matters, Mercury is quite fond of playing around and till things settle down, it is better if hasty words are not allowed in to the scheme of things.

17th-18th March, 2013-

People would have noticed the impact of Śani, Rāhu/ Shani, Rahu and Ketu on the transit Moon as it moved through the headstrong and impulsive Aries/ Meṣa/ Mesha. The experiences yield some important pointers. Since such transits are common for humanity at large it cannot be said that all people would indulge in headless behaviour or use their words in an ill-advised manner. Some would and some won't. It is therefore important to mull over the issue as to which group one comes under. This would be important to decide the results of the Gajakesarī/ Gajakesari Yoga which obtains currently in Vṛṣabha/ Vrishabha/ Taurus with the Moon exalted and joined a direct Gurū/ Guru.

If certain well-meaning utterances have been issued then this transit would bring powerful and sweet fruits of the stand taken in the events. As a result, success, fame and accolades are likely to ensure and these latter could be much to the chagrin of those who have faltered due to the heavy influence of the malefics on the transit Moon.

Taurus is a practical Earth sign and indicates fixity. It can also indicate a well-earned or justified fixity. It is a sign of abundance and wealth and so the chosen ones can stand to benefit from this transit of the benefics in Vṛṣabha/ Vrishabha.

19th-21st of March,  2013-

Maṅgala and Śukra/ Mangala and Shukra have joined in Mīna Rāśi/ Meena Rashi and are causing romance to bounce back from forgotten realms. At the very least the more readily accesible eroticism and passion have surged for some natives with such Yogas in their charts. Cañdra/ Chandra in the meanwhile transits to the Mercurial Gemini/ Mithuna and is aspected by Rāhu/ Rahu with the 5th Bhāva/ Bhava aspect and the 4th Bhāva Graha Dṛṣṭi/ 4th Bhava Graha Drishti of Maṅgala/ Mangala as well. This afflicts the Moon but in a different way than did the degree conjunction with Ketu some time back.

Mithuna can yield currency notes.

Some daredevilry can also be in the offing for those influences by Maṅgala/ Mangala at the more subtle, inner-nature realms and since Budhvāra forms one of the days during which this transit happens Mercury will certainly have a role to play as will Mars .

anuraag9@gmail.com

22nd-23rd of March,  2013-

The transit Moon traverses Karkaṭa Rāśi/ Karkata Rashi/ Cancer during 22nd and 23rd of March, 2013 where it is not conjoined any planets but aspected by the 10th House aspect of Śani/ Shani.

Saturn's 10th House aspect is a special planetary sight and is called 'Lattā'/ Latta  or the kick. It can also means 'leg' or legwork. Generally speaking it can be understood as hard work and the nature and impact of Śani's/ Shani's kick. The varying effects can be felt as either a strong and grounded position where Śani/ Shani does not punish but having punished previously gives the satisfaction of recognising perverted actions arising from inferiority, so that one can act accordingly. To those whom Śani/ Shani has not subjected to its tests, such a transit can be difficult especially if they have acted perversely in the past. It can test them and make them feel inferior and guilty. It can kick such people and kicks by their very nature are humiliating.

24th to 26th of March, 2013-

Vulnerable Gaṅdāṅta/ Gandanta has to be traversed and the transit Moon has to go beyond Karkaṭa/ Karkata to Simha. Both the signs indicate royalty but Simha/ Leo is ruled by the King, Ravi/ the Sun. This sign is also the Mūlatṛkoṇa/ Moolatrikona of Ravi and the King both rests and works here.

Sthira Rāśi/ Rashi Lagnas and Cañdra Rāśis/ Chandra Rashis have a favourable time since Gajakeśarī/ Gajakesari Yoga happens due to the positioning of Gurū and Cañdra/ Guru and Chandra in mutual quadrants and another benefic Budha/Mercury joins the participation being in Aquarius/ Kumbha. These Śubha/ Shubha Yoga work very well since the planets become mutually supportive being Paraspara kāraka/ Karaka.

Fame, money, learning and work can come also depending on the placement of Ravi in the radix. A certain paucity of correctness and alacrity in the mind might happen due to the placement of Cañdra/ Chandra and Budha in the 1-7 axis. This can be alleviated by going to Gurū/ Guru who will give correct thought and direction with his wisdom and incomparable Jñāna/ Jnana.

We have received feedback that emotional and social understanding has benefited from this transit of the Moon in Simha Rāśi/ Simha Rashi/ Leo forming the Gajakeśarī/ Gajakesari  Yoga with Gurū/ Guru/ Jupiter. Efforts to get deeper into the social fabric have been seen. Also, there has been a technological upsurge with a view to guided betterment which has emerged from the placement of Jupiter and Mercury in mutual quadrants from each other.

Elevated understanding about web technologies and web endeavours have emerged during this transit of the Moon. Research papers on the subject have been flying about and their findings have proved themselves by working quite well.

anuraag9@gmail.com

26th-28th of March, 2013-

While the transit of the Moon in Leo Rāśi/ Rashi has been a time for preparation of sorts especially since the planets are in mutual quadrants, it is the movement of Cañdra/ Chandra to Kanyā Rāśi/ Kanya Rashi/ Virgo during the 26th to 28th of March, 2013 which may be imbued with action and work. There is a fundamental difference in Leo and Virgo in that the former is lordly and planning oriented, it is more thoughtful while Kanyā/ Kanya is all about action and careful action, designed to accomplish the tasks that constitute the element of daily work. Virgo is the Earth sign which makes us work for the promise of reward.

This will also be a transit of the full Moon/ Pūrṇimā/ Poornima and the Śaśi-Maṅgala/ Shashi-Mangala Yoga and the Vāhana/ Vahana Yoga are also formed due to the mutual aspect of Mars and the Moon on the one hand and Venus and the Moon on the other. These combinations usually indicate the advent of financial gains if also a surfeit of emotions and a tendency to temper.

This is also a time to avoid lesser relationships due to the aspect of Śukra/ Shukra to its sign of debilitation which is tenanted by the transit Cañdra/ Chandra. The hard work and efforts made during the last transit of the Moon in Leo are likely to bear fruit during these couple of days.

It is the promise of the harvest that drives people to work hard due to the energies and impetus of Kanyā/ Kanya/ Virgo.

29th-31st of March, 2013-

Apart from other things, when we seek to learn the impact of transit planets on the nativity, we also have to see where 'we' are at that given time. How do we learn where we are? We look around to gather perspective on our physical surroundings and identify it. Are we at the work place? Then we place the Pāka Lagna in the 10th House (temporarily) for those few days where we are evaluating the transits. This will be a better way of understanding from which Kārmic/ Karmic locations we are receivng the fruits of the Grahas/ planets.

Are  we instead at home? Place the Pāka/ Paka Lagna in the 4th House then and then see the Graha Gocara/ transits of planets. But obviously, before this, also see where the Pāka/ Paka Lagna is in the radix. Is the temporary Pāka/ Paka Lagna in a beneficial place (beneficial for what, is another consideration) from the natal Pāka/ Paka Lagna (ripener of intellect)?

Is the intellect doused and resting or is it in another Kārmic/ Karmic location.

With this background we see a smashed Cañdra/ Chandra in Tulā Rāśi/ Tula Rashi joined Śani and Rāhu/ Shani and Rahu and aspected by the 8th Bhāva Graha Dṛṣṭi/ Drishti of Maṅgala/ Mangala/ Mars. There is a lot of Vāyu/ Vayu and the mind shall be buffetted by the winds. The impetus of sheer rage and surgical cutting, slashing of Mars will add to this. That which is no longer required in corporate affairs and sexuality will be cut away or with logical precision the truth will be divined. There will be a desperate lunge for pleasure seeking in some and these seemingly paradoxical results shall all come to pass. We must remember that Śukra/ Shukra is exalted and is with Mars in Mīna Rāśi/ Meena Rashi. Therefore romance has a lot of force right now and passions are surging in any case.

This transit may be quite important for natives with Tulā/ Tula Lagna or Tulā Rāśi/ Tula Rashi or those having the Ārūḍha/ Arudha Lagna in Tulā Rāśi/ Tula Rashi. Do not hesitate to seek advice from the doctor or the astrologer because your self is inextricably linked to these professionals and you must have realised that by now.

Consulters have reported great mental unrest during this transit but out of turmoil come improvements and path-breaking solutions.  This needs to be remembered.  The reason is of course the Moon first rushing headlong to meet the great malefic Śani/ Shani and then Rāhu/ Rahu going by the degrees of arc traversed; all the time this heady combination is being aspected by Maṅgala/ Mangala/ Mars.

What then could be the solution to this, one might quite legitimately ask. The secret for this Gocara/ transit of the Moon lies in awareness and this term is not used loosely. Awareness is granted by the Rāśi Dṛṣṭi/ Rashi Drishti of Gurū/ Guru from Vṛṣabha Rāśi/ Vrishabha Rashi. This is the only way the mind can be protected and of course the malefics themselves might be appeased by the appropriate Maṅtras/ Mantras.

 30th March to 1st April, 2013-

Fools Day is going to be no deterrent for people to hope that the present turmoil subsides. Though Cañdra/ Chandra will be debilitated in Vṛṣcika/ Vrishchika/ Scorpio, it appears to be a choice between the devil and the deep blue sea. In Tulā Rāśi/ Tula Rashi the transit Moon is absolutely smashed by conjunction with the Preta Bādhaka/ Badhaka Yoga of Śani/ Shani and Rāhu/ Rahu and the demon of melancholy and anxiety will tend to seize the emotional mind. Maṅgala/ Mangala added with its fire element and the conflagration raged. In the watery depth of Scorpio, simmering with latent heat, the mind is assuaged by the direct wisdom of Gurū/ Guru, even though Jupiter only has a medium 50% aspect on the 7th Bhāva/ Bhava, its Kāma Dṛṣṭi/ Kama Drishti of desire.

The transit Moon has the 12th House aspect of Rāhu/ Rahu from Tulā/ Tula (reckoned in reverse) but one malefic is alright-it will only give unbridled ambition and a cutting edge to things. There is Gajakesarī/ Gajakesari Yoga and once again there will be three benefics in the Keṅdra Bhāva/ Kendra Bhava (quadrants) from the Sthira Lagnas or the fixed rising signs in the zodiac. The pillars of life will be fortified.

In astrological theory it appears to be a far cry from the mayhem of Libra.

And it turns out that in practice as well, the Gochara of Cañdra/ Chandra to Vṛṣcika/ Vrishchika/ Scorpio despite the debility of the Moon is a major relief from the smashing of the Moon by malefic planets. There is a sense of purpose reported even though the Moon is in Rāśi Saṅdhi/ Rashi Sandhi when these words are being written and long standing consulters have also reported a sense of oil being poured over troubled waters. Oils are linked back to Gurū/ Guru as well and are not the sole domian of Śani/ Shani. Gajakesarī/  Gakakesari Yoga is also formed and from knowledge, truth and wisdom shall come true relief.

People are finding the occasion and optimism to forge ahead and take the steps that they might have left alone for the past few days. This transit is specially significant for Vṛṣabha/ Vrishabha/ Taurus Lagna, Simha/ Leo Lagna, Vṛṣcika/ Vrishchika/ Scorpio Lagna and Kumbha/ Aquarius Lagna. While Simha Lagna is vacant and devoid of a Gochara Graha, the Nīca Cañdra/ Neecha Chandra is in Scorpio, Gurū/ Guru is in Vṛṣabha/ Vrishabha in Gocara Parivartana with Śukra/ Shukra/ Venus in Mīna Rāśi/ Meena Rashi and Budha is also in the fixed Kumbha.

2nd to 4th April, 2013-

We can understand the transit to look like this-

The transit Moon travels to Sagittarius/ Dhanuṣa Rāśi/ Dhanusha Rashi from the 2nd to the 4th of April, 2013. Here it will be aspected by the 3rd Bhāva aspect of Śani/ Shani/ Saturn and the mental atmosphere is likely to be heavy and there will be plenty of food for thought. If people in the fields of finance and law find themselves in a place where they wish to grow or even grow out of a mindset, then this transit will give them some valuable insights.

One has to calm the mind and do their Maṅtras/ Mantras as Cañdra/ Chandra transits through the Gaṅdāṅta/ Gandanta zone between Vṛṣcika/ Vrishchika/ Scorpio and Dhanuṣa/ Dhanusha/ Sagittarius.

Apart from this it has also to be noted that the Graha Dṛṣṭi/ Drishti or the planetary aspect of Śani/ Shani obtaining on the Moon has to be evaluated together with the Rāśi Dṛṣṭi/ Rashi Drishti/ sign aspects prevailing on Cañdra/ Chandra in Dhanuṣa Rāśi/ Dhanusha Rashi/ Sagittarius. The human impulse will be very notable and strong during this time because Śukra/ Shukra/  Venus, Maṅgala/ Mangala/ Mars and Ravi/ the Sun aspect the transit Moon with sign aspect from Mīna Rāśi/ Meena Rashi/ Pisces and will enfuse pride, aesthetics and sexuality in the mind. INterestingly, these will not be a function of the desire of the human mind but a manifestation of Kārmic/ Karmic awareness or realities that people 'find themselves in'  which latter is the underlying norm for Daśās/ Dashas such as the Padakrama Daśā/ Padakrama Dashas.

Mental fatigue is another characteristic in this Gochara Sthiti/  transit position due to the planetary aspect of the 3rd Bhāva/ Bhava as stated previously. In the next sign transit the Moon will be unaspected by malefics though again in a sign ruled by Śani/ Shani. There the protection will come from the 9th Bhāva/ Bhava aspect of Gurū/ Guru.

4th April-6th April, 2013-

The Maṅtra/ Mantra for this transit is 'Work, work, work...'. Actually, no Maṅtra/ Mantra is required because this is what people will be doing, putting in the hard yards and the slog as it were. The best thing is that Gurū's/ Guru's 9th House aspect can given valuable information about one's work so that the hard work is not blind and mulish. It can be guided and focussed and with a healthy sense of awareness which can put a completely different spin on Capricorn.

Admittedly this is not Jupiter's favourite work and this is why Makara Rāśi/ Rashi is the Nīca Rāśi/ Neecha Rashi or the sign of debilitation for Jupiter. Still this is a much better transit than the previous one-there is functionality and better still, there is informed functionality.

This could also be a very good time to access some valuable information about your work and to trust it. There may be a feeling, especially for those with a powerful Jupiter in the horoscope, that the information that is coming is banal but if you work in the Kaliyuga get out of the boxed-up attitude and learn to appreciate the value of pragmatic and functional information. In daily work, that which is functional is extremely crucial so please do not let the love of the abstract, wonderful though it is in itself, thwart you in these pursuits.

For some who have faced tremendous roadblocks in work especially those with Meṣa Lagna rising in the Rāśi/ Rashi Chakra or Simha Lagna or Dhanuṣa/ Dhanusha Lagna,  and there were glimmers in the past of getting astrological or spiritual solutions of some sort to these quite material and practical issues, well get them during this time. These will come and will work.

There is a major satisfaction for some in working unusually hard-these are people either dominated by the planet Saturn or going through a dominant phase of this planet. Keep this is mind and when another Graha like Gurū/ Guru enters the equation, some much needed information about this hard work can be forthcoming. Remember also that while Śani/ Shani is a natural malefic, Gurū/ Guru is a great benefic. It can be nobody's case that hard work is or is not a good thing, necessarily speaking-sometimes it can be essential for a person to forget everything else and work hard but then it is only Jyotiṣa/ Jyotisha which like all other matters in life can truly elucidate the real place of this work in the scheme of things in a given incarnation. Do not be deluded or carried away.

6th to 8th April, 2013-

A distributed sentiment during the Gochara of Cañdra/ Chandra through Kumbha Rāśi/ Rashi/ Aquarius during the 6th, 7th and 8th of April, 2013 could be-'Happy days are here again' but is more likely to be-'Heady days are here again'. Avoid getting sucked into the vortex of uncontrolled hedonism though there is nothing wrong with what is generally thought as 'having a good time'. This is such a phase and especially since the weekend is here. The office-goers in contemporary life rightly or wrongly equate certain past times with the process of 'unwinding'.

Kumbha is ruled by Śani/ Shani/ Saturn, the Vāra/ Vara lord of Śanivāra/ Shanivara/ Saturday-this is to be kept in mind. Kumbha is also ruled by the North Node of the Moon, Rāhu/ Rahu. This should be kept in mind as well. Though some factors can introduce themselves based on Amśa/ Amsha Gochara or divisional transits, especially of the Moon since we are viewing the transience for such short duration.

The other pertinent facts are that the transit Moon at this time is joined Budha/ Mercury and this can impart a certain indecision and conflict to the mind. The wise ones would ensure that thought-processes and rationality are chanelled properly. And the wise ones are indicated by the Keṅdra/ Kendra/ quadrant position of Gurū/ Guru/ Jupiter in Vṛṣabha/ Vrishabha/ Taurus Rāśi/ Rashi. The three benefics, Jupiter, Mercury and Moon are in quadrants to each other (yes, the first sign from the reference is also a quadrant) and work with each other.

The Gajakesarī/ Gajakesari Yoga is beautifully formed with the transit Moon being in the 10th House from Jupiter-fame and glory is promised in the context of wealth and attainment of objectives. This is especially true for the Sthira Lagna/ fixed sign Ascendants either undergoing the happy fruits of good Karmā or waiting for the tide to turn. There is also Gurū-Śiṣya/ Guru-Shishya Yoga formed by the Keṅdra/ Kendra placement of Jupiter and Mercury and therefore the child in us is being guided by the benevolent preceptor who poses no conditions. Soak up the marvels that accrue from the esoteric traditions of India while this Yoga is activated by the Gochara Caṅdra/ Chandra and you shall be vastly richer for it.

Here is a valuable tip for interested and discerning enthusiasts-if something looks good during this transit then one good way to decide whether it is a good fit or not is to test it on this parameter-does it have structure,  culmination, solidity, fixity and conservative strength to it? Is there a chance that it would dwindle with time and wither away or would it stand the test of time with its authenticity? If the answers are positive, then adopt it, get it, use it etc etc. It is all about Sthira Rāśis/ Rashis or the fixed signs where this is happening and that is how you should furnish reasoning to the proposition.

You should also consider this transit with the polarities of light and dark firmly entrenched in your mind. Are you in the darkness or are you in the light? Are you in the darkness and can you see the light? If so, are you moving towards it? Are you rather in the light? And if you are, can you see the darkness and those in it? These equations are crucial for human interaction, of the kind that leads to something significant.

8th-10th April, 2013-

The transit Moon travels to Pisces and joins the exalted Venus/  Śukra/ Shukra, Mars/ Maṅgala/ Mangala, and Ravi/ the Sun. All these Grahas are rushing headlong to Meṣa Rāśi/ Mesha Rashi/ Aries and the Moon is travelling too and will actually leave these Grahas behind.

Very strong Vāhana/ Vahana and Śaśi-Maṅgala/ Shashi-Mangala Yogas are formed in Mīna Rāśi/ Meena Rashi during this time leading to positive developments in comforts, articles of luxury and overall prosperity. The Amāvasyā/ Amavasya Tithi is also approaching in the Kṛṣṇa Pakṣa/ Krishna Paksha, dark half of the lunar month and the tide will be there to be caught. This can be a special time for these and other reasons, which will vary in their impact from person to person, as I always emphasise-the degree of individuality in Jyotiṣa/ Jyotisha is equivalent to that in life amongst persons. Could it be any other way at all.

So, this Gochara is also quite magical because darkness will give way to gentle understanding and peace in the mind for some and help them to view things better. It is not always possible in certain signs because the mind and the intellect might be clouded by too much 'wanting' and too many 'notions'. This is not the case with Mīna Rāśi/ Meena Rashi.

The conspicuous feature of this planetary alignment is this-the combination of the Moon and Venus generates Vāhana/ Vahana Yoga but it is also a Rudra Yoga caused by the excess of emotion and the Jala Tattwa. Similarly, the Śaśi-Maṅgala/ Shashi-Mangala Yoga formed by the Yoga of the Moon and Mars is also positive for material matters but the water rises due to the heat of Mars and precipitates anger. Therefore irritability and anger, especially for those persons who have this Yoga in the horoscope or those who have Maṅgala/ Mangala in the Lagna in the Rāśi/ Rashi or Navāmśa/ Navamsha can pose challenges. It is better to be forewarned about these so that the people may focus on the positives and mitigate the negatives of the Gocara. This is also due to the fact that the Moon has almost completely waned and is therefore a Kṣīṇa Cañdra/ Ksheena Chandra. Therefore the usual nectar of peace and happiness and caring and sharing and sensitivity may not be  in great abundance during this time. There are other huge positives associated and those with the natal Moon in some such position in the radix can better appreciate this.

However, the pitfall is the association of so many planets together in Pisces which always leads to confusion and a sense of dulling. The dullness comes because nothing identifiable happens and people are left with a vague sense of dislocation.  Even in the natal chart,  such crowds in one house make people count the very many Yogas happening in that house and the expectation levels rise. However it is not frequent that such aspirations are properly reflected in actual experience and such also might be the case in this transit. For those experiencing the lesser aspects the Amāvasyā/ Amavasya Tithi also causes problems.

At about 2:55 PM on the 10th of April, 2013 there was an almost exact degree conjunction of the Sun and Moon and the Amāvasyā/ Amavasya Tithi attained its completion. At this point the Moon was completely dark. Even so, the Moon being a luminary is not really combust or Asta at this point but devoid of that bright nectar that characterises such a Moon. There is a lot of Vāyu/ Vayu Tattwa and Tamas Guṇa/ Guna with such a Moon and the Tithi is ruled by Goddess Kālī/ Kali. That which is adverse about the Tithi is quelled by the favour of the Goddess resulting in the boon of three (3) [Gurū/ Guru].

10th to 12th of April, 2013-

Gaṅdaṅta/ Gandanta factors rule as the water in the body and in the mind and in the world wherever it may be boils and rages and swells up. It is poisoned in some ways because there is so much water and yet it is leaving the watery realms of the Amāvasyā/ Amavasya Tithi in Mīna Rāśi/ Meena Rashi and moving towards the fire of Meṣa Rāśi/ Mesha Rashi.

Both Venus and the Moon are at 0-1 degrees on the evening of the 10th of April, 2013. Mothers, recent mothers, women who are mothers, feeling, connection, human beings, emotions, empathy, gentleness all suffer and so does beauty and love, marriage and romance-everything simmers with some sort of poison and bubbles and swells. It is a terrible time for water especially since it was used to the oceans in Pisces and the dry mountain goats await it. How will the water climb atop a mountain and meet the ram.

This follows close on the heels of the Amāvasyā/ Amavasya Tithi and the Moon is very weak in the Pakṣa/ Paksha Bala as well. The evening of the 10th commences the Śukla Pakṣa Pratipadā/ Shukla Paksha Pratipada and as the days go on the Moon will gain in light. At this time it is dark as darkness itself and is parched of feeling. There is thought and wind and people may find their food making the stomach swell with physical windy complaints. You know who to blame.

There is one positive that emerges-when the fiery planets get through the Gaṅdāṅta/ Gandanta, they will ultimately be in an Agni Tattwa Rāśi/ Rashi/ fiery sign and they will be at home. Sun/ Ravi/ Sūrya/ Surya, the King will be exalted in Aries and Maṅgala/ Mangala, the Commander will be in its Mūlatṛkoṇa Rāśi/ Moolatrikona Rashi. There will be a lot of initiative from these two planets and the submergence of fire in the water would be a thing of the past.

At least the complete submergence of the Amāvasyā/ Amavasya Moon in Mīna Rāśi/ Meena Rashi is a thing of the past but the Vāhana/ Vahana Yoga/ Rudra Yoga formed by the benefic Venus and Moon is still under great affliction in the Grahaṇa/ Grahana Yoga formed by Ketu joining Moon-the mind can tend to get eclipsed by headlessness. Be careful. Put the right head on top just as Śiva/ Siva put the head of the elephant on the baby's head as Gaṇeśa/ Ganesha came into being the one with knowledge and wealth both.

The combination of Śani/ Shani and Rāhu/ Rahu also aspects the transit Moon and the benefic Venus. Too much Vāyu impact on the benefics troubling their Naisargika/ natural realms.

People have reported a sense of reprieve during this transit and the problems of the Amāvasya coupled with other issues were seen to have abated and that too despite the affliction by Śani/ Shani, Rāhu/ Rahu and Ketu. But as the degrees of the transit Moon increase, so does the proximity to the Nodes and therefore around the later part of the morning on 12th April, 2013 people have reported irritability and a lack of peace in the mind.

Maṅgala/ Mangala is also in Meṣa Rāśi/ Mesha Rashi-its Mūlatṛkoṇa Rāśi/ Moolatrikona Rashi on the evening of the 12th and again chases Venus to catch up with her. The Rudra Yoga is repeated in Meṣa/ Mesha. Food for thought-could there be situations where even the dire malefic Maṅgala/ Mangala could bring happiness or contentment or the blessings of planety. Think about it, mull over it. Whether it can or not, we shall leave for another day and another place but Mars himself is quite happy and he is going to work, either to war, or to fiery initiative, or going to conquer. Are you doing this or is this being done to you-the positioning can make you feel radically different about things.

13th-15th of April, 2013-

The transit Moon moves to Taurus/ Vṛṣabha Rāśi/ Vrishabha Rashi on Saturday or Śanivāra/ Shanivara and joins Gurū/ Guru/ Jupiter. Taurus is the exaltation sign of the Moon and with Jupiter it forms the celebrated Gajakeśarī/ Gajakesari Yoga. It might provide the much needed relief from the recent travails of the transit Moon. There is the solidity of conservatism in this Moon (read in the mind) but this is not staunch and regressive, rather truly a sensible and all-encompassing, caring reference-frame of thoughts and action. Always remember Vāsudaiva Kuṭumbakam/ Vasudaiva Kutumbakam with Gurū/ Guru.

Earlier there was Budha in Kumbha Rāśi/ Rashi but now the latter Graha having now moved to Mīna Rāśi (Meena Rashi)/ Pisces the Gajakeśarī/ Gajakesari Yoga is singular in Taurus. There is no Dhana Argalā/ Argala from a Graha to this Yoga but there is Virodha Argalā/ Argala. Therefore communications as they are in themselves are overpowered by the quality of initiative and unbridled aggression. There is a marked sexual impulse as the degrees of Mars increase in Gemini and though at this time it is still in Gaṅdāṅta/ Gandanta, the effects will be there.

There is intervention from the tranforming ego and lordliness which is also bubbling over from its watery depths having been annhilated in the Maraṇa Kāraka Sthāna/ Marana Karaka Sthana and shown its miniscule status in the grand scheme of things and with this perspective the wise man moves to power in the Bhū-loka. Health issues may crop up due to the weakness of the Sun and headaches may trouble those with Ravi in the Lagna or associated with the Lagna in some manner. The ego and pride are in transition.

We must focus during these days also on the transit of the Sun because He is the King and the Moon is the other luminary.  These are our sources of light and of the forward motion of kingship, success and authority, of the flow of things and pleasant happenings. Ravi in Gaṅdāṅta/ Gandanta makes a difference. Did you know that extant reality is defined as we know it only because Ravi/ Sūrya/ the Sun kindly consented to that for us, and that he is the overlord of this reality or these realities and hence the King; that He infact nourishes and provides for these realities. These factors help us to understand the importance of the solar month and the solar transit and the solar ingress. In Aries, it is this glorious Sun which is exalted and at its happiest.  If the KIng is happy it augurs well for aall concerned and hence the celebration.

Now see this while Budha may be Nīca (Neecha) or debilitated in Mīna Rāsi/ Meena Rashi it is so only because playfulness takes a back seat in the word of wisdom and Kārmic silence. If Mercury is made to communicate according to the teachings of Jupiter which is in Gajakeśarī/ Gajakesari Yoga with Cañdra/ Chandra at this time then the communications will be magnificent and yet humble.

The exalted Moon in Taurus brings the mother or motherly figures to the fore and any immediate prior difficulties which may have arisen in this direction would be alleviated. Otherwise,  good news would be in the offing about the mother or motherly figures.  Gurū will protect the mind and the mother and this will be inspite of the heavy Agni in Meṣa Rāśi/ Mesha Rashi/ Aries caused by the conjunction of Mars and Ketu and the Sun as well. You may get to meet Gurū-an authentic Brahmin, not by caste but by his consulting and advisory work. This will ease your mind. Should you then aim to meet professionals in such Yogas such as Gajakeśarī/ Gajakesari Yoga?

15th to 17th April, 2013-

After the conservatism and protection of Gurū/ Guru, the transit Moon moves to the sign of Mithuna/ Gemini where communications abound. Cañdra/ Chandra is aspected by Rāhu/ Rahu here with its 5th Bhāva aspect and can show ambition for the future which is completely unrestrained. In the positive it could also show creative impulses and research-oriented activity. Gemini is not only a Mercurial Rāśi/ Rashi but is aspected by Budha with Rāśi Dṛṣṭi/ Rashi Drishti/ sign aspect. Budha is Nīca/ Neecha or debilitated and therefore communications should be gone through carefully before final dispatch. Mercury can sometimes stupefy the mind with its playfulness and here Mercury is weak. People would also do well to approach communications with an immediate awareness of the inherent weakness in the subject matter of communications itself.

The aspect of one malefic is not too problematic but see how these plans and desires and thoughts and anticipations have to be used. Ultimately, the relevance of the Moon transit tthough the various Lagnas, Rāśis/ Rashis and Ārūḍhas/ Arudhas has to be specific and personalised which is the aim of all work on this website. The general findings which are given here are primarily for reading pleasure and an enunciation of the general principles. Serious and meaningful astrological exercises stand on an entirely different footing.

The transit chart for the 16th of April, 2013 is captured below for New Delhi, India-

The day on the 16th is Tuesday ruled by Mars/  Maṅgala/ Mangala. This is important. This is what feeds and informs the vitality on the 16th. The movement of the Moon represents the flow of things and thoughts and since there is a mental activity influence of Rāhu/ Rahu and a deterministic influence of Mercury, these have to be contextually studied in the light of the energy of the day. We should avoid things which lead to too much aggression and a desire for conquest-where force and impetus is required it should be infused, but not without perspective and an element of the benign.

The major earthquake that has shaken New Delhi at about 4:20 PM on this date is discussed here- http://planetarytransformation.blogspot.in/#!/2012/10/jyotisa-vedic-astrology-evaluation-of.html

18th April-20th April, 2013-

Two malefics focus on the Moon as it travels to Karkaṭa Rāśi/ Karkata Rashi/ Cancer. This is the own sign of the Moon and the mind is inherently at rest. Still, it is the energies from outside that spur it into commotion and action. The mind is subjected to two diverse energy flows-one if of immediate initiative, impulse and action and the other is slow, ponderous and obstinate. The combination is heady and makes for an unrelenting and fixed mental position.

There is a lot of actual work and there is a lot of protection of the mind. The work cannot outweigh the almost parental control of the mind and what will happen is that people will feel blessed and rooted and comfortable and the extraneous energies would shape this content mind in the manner as aforesaid. It is work which involves others which will prompt and coax the hard physical work and it is the self which will seek to protect the mind in its watery home. Interesting placements.

Some minor arguments may ensue at home or with the neighbours over petty issues-just ensure you are not at the receiving end if it is not your fault. Courtesy should be extended to those who understand and appreciate it.

Isn't the transit leading to a nonplussed mind, with contrarian forces impeding the natural connection and flow and juice of interaction which naturally comes from the Moon.

As for the debility of Budha/  Mercury, the very subject of benefic debilitation is not simple. Mercury is exposing questions in its domain and if things are well-poised in the radix then what is happening is that the debility is throwing up questions which are extremely beneficial to people. People may have assumed that a normal Mercury practice was good, even wonderful but the debilitation of the planet in Pisces will expose some downsides of the practice. This will show up especially in areas ruled by Pisces-foreign policy, spirituality, astrology, wisdom, cultural studies, metaphysics and the area of focus will be the angle ruled by Mercury. Communications in these areas, written works, web publishing, SEO in-depth studies, research et al. Watch these things very carefully if they should show up. A Nīca (Neecha) Graha shows up many things, addressing which can lead to very good results.

A huge positive which can accrue is that Mercury in its retrograde motion will focus attention on areas which mayhave been completely untouched thus far. In some cases, the awareness may be faulty and the debility of the Graha will expose the need for humility and surrender to the subject-this knowledge and awareness can be used in the professions and work with amazing results and when decision making is required these facets can play a huge role in both understanding the Karma associated with the time and also the ways in which it has to be used and followed.

Intricate follies in the Mercurial domian can show up at such a time and can lead to enormous improvement in one's output and understanding.

In debilitated times, vulnerable people can seek help, and professionals will be receiving many vulnerable people, especially with Mercury related problems.

20th-22nd of April, 2013-

The transit Moon moves to the royal Leo/  Simha on the night of 20th April, 2013 and has to subject itself to the contrary elements of Water and Fire.

Having crossed the Gaṅdāṅta (Gandanta), the Moon is truly amongst the royalty in men-Maghā (Magha) Nakṣatra (Nakshatra) is right at the beginning of Leo and is indicated by a royal palanquin. You feel as if you should be carried by the bearers. There is Gajakeśarī Yoga (Gajakesari Yoga) also formed with Gurū (Guru/ Jupiter) in Keṅdra (Kendra/ quadrant) to Moon.

There is fire and fame for those who are enveloped with such Karma in the radix.

Do not confuse the Gaṅdāṅta/ Gandanta pressures with the major conflicts that are occuring now. These are rooted in the opposition between the exalted Ravi in Meṣa Rāśi (Mesha Rashi) and exalted Śani (Shani) in Tulā Rāśi (Tula Rashi/ Libra). The father and son are at loggerheads, even more so than is usually the case. Both are fighting from a position of strength, that of exaltation. But there is a major catch.

The catch can be seen from the chart above-Śani (Shani) is Vakra or retrograde and therefore while it may be locked intensely in battle for its own servitude, the fact is that it is retrograde in exaltation and is thus giving results as if it were debilitated. The Sun, on the other hand is never retrograde and is simply exalted in Aries.

This is a time to burn that which is dross or that which has been outgrown. This is not the time for dank, dark, bowed adherence for even dank, dark, bowed adherence seeks enraging by aspiring to Meṣa (Mesha). Servitude is sick of itself and wants initiative. Will it get it? Now, the point is who is inherently bound by servile Karma and who is enveloped by servility but is not inherently servile. The radix will distinguish. Those who have been subjected to such Karma due to Daśā (Dasha) or some such transient phenomenon in the horoscope even in the context of this life only, will find novelty shining through. Bask.

As readers may have noticed,  in the recent past the Gochara of Cañdra/ Chandra through the Sthira Rāśi/ Rashi has invited comment. This is of course for the reason that the Gajakeśarī Yoga/ Gajakesari Yoga is formed only then since Gurū/ Guru is in a fixed sign/ Sthira Rāśi/ Rashi.  So let us see, the impact of this oft-recurring combination the fixedd Lagnas and this impact is listed below for the four Sthira Lagnas. For-

Vṛṣabha/ Vrishabha/ Taurus Lagna it is fantastic because Gurū is transiting the Lagna and the Gochara Cañdra/ Chandra (transit Moon) attains 100% Digbala or directional strength in the 4th Bhāva from the Lagna. Fame and success comes from home, one's own endevour and immovable properties. Are you disposing of major real estate at attractive prices during this Cañdra Gochara? It is almost certain for these village headmen and zamindars of yore. Just avoid a careless mistake as not checking the revenue records for missing out on a mutation that ought to have happened years ago. People buying these sorts of massive and regal real estate might want to check the records and satisfy the doctrine of caveat emptor  lest a careless mistake undo all the joy.

Sell to companies. You have all the understanding you need at this time.

Simha/ Leo Lagna it is equally tremendous because there is a spotless application in work. It is vast and yet unobstrusive. Simha Lagna is doing what he wishes to, with grace and understanding so far as work is concerned. This is a time of expansion and growth. With the Cañdra/ Chandra in Lagna, the resultant Gajakeśarī Yoga indicates rewards for steps taken in these positive directions. Sunday coincides with this transit and should be watched for more specific indications.

Vrishchika/ Vṛṣcika/ Āli/ Scorpio Lagna it is pleasing in a different way. The wife or partner is quite happy these days with the greater insight that you display in the marriage or in the relationship and on the principle of intervention or Argalā/ Argala, the transit Moon in the 10th brings in that great positive push from work success, networking and social movement. Even apart from this, the fact that the 7th House is Taurus is incentive enough for the Moon to impart enhanced positives in this transit. The usual heavy weather that this Lagna faces in terms of the continuing Kārmic reference and also matters of the heart will be dissipated somewhat with this excellent transit Yoga/ combination.

Kumbha/  Aquarius Lagna it is the most personalised out of all the four Sthira Lagnas.  Not only is the atmosphere at home very enlightened but the physical home itself is in fine fettle. The transit Moon indicates affection for the spouse or for the partner and the dominant quality is what is referred to as happiness.  The reason for this is that the 7th House is but the natural Pada of the 4th,  being the 4th from the 4th and therefore benefic occupation of both the Bhāvas/ Bhavas is excellent for the happiness quotient.

But then is the heaviness stated above for thiss transit solely due to the Gaṅdāṅta (Gandanta) Gochar of Cañdra/ Chandra or is there some other reason as well. Keep delving into this incredible metaphysics and it shal give you the answer to everything. The reason is Rāśi Dṛṣṭi (Rashi Drishti/ sign aspect) of course, that of Śani and Rāhu (Shani and Rahu) on the one hand and Ravi, Śukra (Shukra), Maṅgala (Mangal) and Ketu on the other to the transit Moon. The impact of aas many as five dire natural malefics should not be that easy on the mind, isn't it. This impact is circumstantial and based in awareness of those circumstances. This is a reality obtaining on the regal Moon at this time.

22nd to 24th of April, 2013-

When the Moon/ Cañdra/ Chandra transits to Kanyā Rāśi/ Kanya Rashi/ Virgo later in the day, while there is perfectionism and there is work there is also the Graha Dṛṣṭi/ Drishti of Gurū/ Guru/ Jupiter from Vṛṣabha Rāśi/Vrishabha Rashi/ Taurus and also the planetary aspect/ Graha Dṛṣṭi/ Drishti of Nīca/ Neecha Budha/ Mercury from Mīna Rāśi/ Meena Rashi/ Pisces. This makes for very nice energies playing on the mind from 22nd of April, 2013 to the 24th of April, 2013. Of course the individualised effects of the transit for the various Lagnas cannot be so readily deciphered but then that is that.

The debility of Mercury only focuses the mind and thoughts on the need for awareness and precision. All this happens in the context of work and profession. The vulnerability comes because Budha in its station in Mīna Rāśi/ Meena Rashi/ Pisces exposes the lack of knowledge and awareness in earthy matters. Please remember this is the Kaliyuga and not all are inclined towards the spirit. One has to know which the cookie crumbles, the bread is buttered and other such confectionary/ bakery Maṅtras/ Mantras in order to properly function.

The purpose is to reap the harvest which is indicated by the Karma and to position the Karma and freewill to suit that end. Why do you work? That is not a rhetorical question. You must have an in-depth and genuine answer to this question if you need to figure out your Artha world.

The preceding transit in Leo is a bit solitary and therefore interaction is not a strong point of the Moon in Leo. In this sign things might be a little different and the events which shall show up should prove it.

Oratory and inspired writing have shown up as the visible empirical impact of the transit of the Moon/ Cañdra/ Chandra in Kanyā Rāśi/ Kanya Rashi/ Virgo. The wisdom and awareness comes from Gurū/ Guru/ Jupiter while the acknowledgement of the infirmities comes from the Nīca Budha/ debilitated Mercury. It will happen all in the matters of work and income and attainment though as stated.

Ravi is wonderfully exalted and Maṅgala/ Mangala/ Mars is wonderfully Mūlatṛkoṇa/ Moolatrikona-use this to stoke that fire in the belly. Fire is purificatory and it changes and alters things. It can burn the dross of life so do that and it will yield what it promises to in the nativity. Also remember that the current debility of Budha/  Mercury is a wholly transitory phenomenon and this planet if it is crucial for you also moves into Meṣa/ Mesha/ Aries on the 28th of April, 2013 just after 6 PM. That will put an end to the slowing down of matters Mercurial. For some people this can be a very important planet for a variety of reasons and therefore its movement and placement alters things.

Even now, if one were to take care of the niceties of professional communications, and ensure that less than the best adherence to detail is not there, then only rewards will ensue from this. Put up with seemingly inane work requirements because even these might be quite useful.   The Sun is gloriously as the point of its highest exaltation in Meṣa Rāśi (Mesha Rashi/ Aries) at 10 degrees on the 24th of April, 2013 and those for whom Ravi is an important planet would note especially the things it brings-note them and hold on to them as this is the way to the future. The King is saying something and everyone should listen carefully.

A BRIEF LOOK AT THE TWELVE LAGNAS/ ASCENDANTS IN VEDIC ASTROLOGY

People are often curious at the beginning of their astrological quest, to know something of the various facets pertaining to their ‘chart’; in other words, they wish to evaluate the basic propensities pertaining to their Lagnas and their Rashi/ Lagna Kundalis (Kundalis). Also, the Chandra Lagna itself and Gochar furnish other popular areas of curiosity. Lagna is the sign rising on the Eastern horizon at the time of birth and is occupied by a Rāśi (Rashi)/ Vedic sign. The average duration of a sign rising in the Lagna/ Ascendant is two hours and for this reason the twelve Rāśis cover the twenty-four hours duration of the solar day. ( Basic Jyotiṣa principles can be accessed by clicking this link ) Lagna imbues a person with individuality and therefore denotes the self and the personality of the person. It is the first house or Bhāva of the chart and is the commencement point of any horoscopic study. We cannot forget that in all the divisional charts as well there is a Lagna/ asc

A METHODOLOGY FOR VEDIC CHART INTERPRETATION

The following is an attempt to lay down a general method to conduct professional chart analysis. It appears to have worked well for the author in his practice. Notably though, it need not be the best way to interpret charts and the astrologer must find her own way when it comes to developing a structure with which to unravel any given chart. Some of the more general features of interpretation are being omitted for fear of the paper becoming unwieldy but certain crucial aspects of Jyotish interpretation are being explained since these are not very widely used. The author is indebted to the works of Pt. Sanjay Rath, author, scholar and Jyotish Guru of Sri Jagannath Center. It is through assimilating the writings of Pt. Rath that the author has been able to progress from the fundamentals of Jyotish to a somewhat deeper understanding. ARUDHA PADAS: The houses as reckoned from the Lagna/ Ascendant reveal the truth about the native. This is metaphysical reality as distinguished from precipit

Yanavanta/ Annapurna/ Vahana Yoga of Venus and Moon in Scorpio-8th October, 2013

The Yānavaṅta/ Yanavanta/ Annapūrṇā/ Annapurna/ Vāhana/ Vahana Yoga is formed when Venus and Moon/ Śukra and Cañdra/ Shukra and Chandra associate to form a Yoga in the Vedic horoscope; by Vedic horoscope is meant the Rāśi Cakra/ Rashi Chakra and the Varga Chakra as well, the latter being the divisional charts governing specific areas of life such as marriage (Navāmśa/ Navamsha), career (Daśāmśa/ Dashamsha), children (Saptāmśa/ Saptamsha), parents and elders (Dwādaśāmśa/ Dwadashamsha), comforts and luxuries (Ṣodaśāmśa/ Shodashamsha), spirituality and worship (Vimśāmśa/ Vimshamsha), education (Siddhāmśa/ Siddhamsha) etc. Let us consider the immediate meanings of the various terms used to indicate the Yoga formed due to the association of Venus and the Moon. The term Yānavaṅta/ Yanavanta indicates the charioteer or one guiding the vehicle of humanity or a group or individuals. It indicates leadership and the capacity to show the way to the multitudes and to guide and mould their live
