REGARDING A PREMATURE CHILD IN INTENSIVE CARE UNIT:

Nama Shivaya

Dear Querist,

1

You need to worship Dakshinamurti Shiva due the Brahman Shrapa in the Lagna caused by three malefics, Saturn, Rahu and Mars joining Jupiter, the Putrakaraka and the 5th Lord of children for your chart. The marriage became stressed during pregnancy because the 7th Lord Shani is in Marana Karaka Sthana in the Lagna and Rahu is also there.

The final remedy would be to worship Rahu, the Atmakaraka with the following Mantra:

‘Om Namah Shivaya Namo Nageshwaraya’.

The Mahadasha of Rahu runs till 2016 and these remedial measures are important.

There is danger to the life of the child as the lord of the child is in Marana Karaka Sthana from the Lagna Lord Guru in the Saptamsha/ D-7 chart.

4

The same problem occurs in the chart of your husband as Guru is afflicted by the conjunction of Rahu and Shani in the 4th Bhava from the Lagna. In this case also the suffering is brought by the desire of the Soul as Shani is the Atmakaraka in his chart. He must worship with the Mantra: ‘Om Namah Shivaya Namo Mahakaleshaya’.

2

In his Upapada debilitated Mars is present, and this makes for a marriage full of arguments, irritability, frayed tempers and worse. From his chart, the length of the marriage is suspect.

He is also running the Dasha involving the Yoga with the Purakaraka and the suffering is quite clearly shown.

In the chart of the child, Venus, the Lagna Lord is well placed. Constantly recite ‘Om Haum Joom Sah’ and place a diamond near the child.

3

This chart also carries the Brahman Shrapa in Dusthana.

GENERAL QUERY:

1

No factual details or feedback is available at the time of the initial casting of the horoscope.

Venus appears quite conspicuous for several reasons. It is the functionally malefic lord of the 3rd and the 8th Bhavas from the Lagna. It is debilitated and the debility is in the delicate 7th House of which it is the natural significator or the Naisargika Karaka.

The Upapada (UL) falls in the 8th House and houses a debilitated 6th Lord Sun and the 7th Lord Mercury/ Budh itself. There is Bhava Parivartana between the 7th and 8th Houses which points to adverse inferences in the marriage or the marital realm. The lord of the 9th House or the 2nd Bhava from the UL is in the 6th Bhava from the Lagna.

2

Saturn is retrograde in the Lagna bringing in Vata Dosha and negativity. The Pishacha-Badhak Yoga in the 6th Bhava of the Navamsha Chakra brings in the real danger of violence in relationships and in the marriage.

JOB, MARRIAGE, ACCIDENT AND DREAMS:

Nama Shivaya

In your chart, there is a Curse of Brahmin occurring in the 2nd Bhava from the Lagna. Jupiter, indicating the Brahmin, is joined three dire malefics, Saturn, Rahu and Mars.

1

Rahu is the Atmakaraka showing that this is the desire of the soul to suffer and burn this Karma due to suffering. Some element of the suffering must be faced due to the following facts:

 • The Atmakaraka (AK) Rahu is involved in the Shrapa/ Curse;
 • The Shrapa occurs in a fixed Rashi/ sign showing Dridha Karma at the level of manifestation;
 • The 8th lords, Rahu and Shani are both involved in the Shrapa showing own fault or Nija Dosha;
 • The AK is in Sthira/ fixed Shashthyamsha or the D-60 Amsha indicating the desire of the soul to bring such Karma into being.

The 2nd lord Sun is exalted in the 10th House showing Simhasana Yoga (akin to being elevated to the throne) and you will feel as if you are crowned once the Surya Dasha commences in the Vimshottari scheme in 2016.

Remedial measures can be given due to the preponderance of the mutable and movable Amshas in the Navamsha Chakra/ D-9 and the D-60.

2

They will bear quick fruit due to Mars being the 5th Lord of Mantra.

3

Saturn rules the 11th Bhava from the Arudha Lagna (AL) in the Rashi Chakra and thus shows that the younger brother was also caught up in the curse and had to suffer the accident (Mars, also involved in the Shrapa).

You are intelligent and the Nipuna Yoga will support your social and financial image (AL) through the Surya Dasha (Pradhana Dhana Argala).

The marriage and job are also impacted due to this Shrapa as Shani is retrograde and involved in the curse as the 7th Lord of marriage while Mars as the 10th Lord is also involved. Surya and Mangal are in exchange and this also strengthens the Simhashana Yoga.

The ominous forebodings are due to the impact of the malefics Rahu and Saturn which bring dread due to past Karma and the fear of the worst happening in life. They have Argala on the Lagna and the Moola Dasha at the present time showing the root of the past Karma being experienced is that of Saturn as well.

Worship the AK with the Mantra:

‘Om Namah Shivaya Namo Nageshwaraya’.

This will alleviate all the suffering in life.

Nama Shivaya

Shani is in transit in the 10th Bhava from the natal Moon in the radix, forming Kantak Shani creating societal pressures in work.

1

Debilitated Rahu in transit over the natal Moon in the 6th House is also stressing the mind with doubt, illusion, fears and anxieties.

The best remedy for you at the level of natal Karma is to wear a Ruby in the ring finger. The reason for this is two-fold:

 • Shani is in the 9th House causing luck to abandon you and for Durbhagya to come. Ravi is the Naisargika Karaka/ natural significator for the 9th House and without luck all is lost. Ruby is the gemstone for the Sun;
 • Rahu is in the 10th House of the throne or where the native shines and this also required that Ravi be strengthened due to the fact that it is one of the Karakas of the 10th Bhava as well.

2

The 12th House in the Rashi Chakra and the 9th House in the Navamsha need introspection at a personal level, at least at this point in life, as to what serves a particular purpose and what not, and what is entirely useless.

The chanting of the Rudra Chamakam is required till Saturn transits into Libra.

HOROSCOPE WITH KALA-AMRITA YOGA AND FIVE GRAHAS IN A RASHI:

Nama Shivaya

There are five Grahas in the 2nd Bhava from the Lagna and also the Rashi Chakra exhibits Kala Amrita Yoga. All Grahas are between the Ketu-Rahu axis.

1

Much will depend on the divisional charts in this case but the Kala Amrita Yoga will have overarching importance for the boy. This needs to be remedied through the Guru form of the Grahas.

The Navamsha Chakra indicates that the time of birth needs to be rectified, based on the location of the Prana Pada from the Moon.

2

The strong Vipreeta Raja Yoga formed by the debilitated Yogakaraka in the 12th Bhava from the Lagna is noteworthy in the Rashi Chakra.

|Nama Shivaya| The cause for the delayed marriage is the affliction to Venus in the 12th House by debilitated Sun, the Graha Drishti of Rahu from the 11th House and the Graha Drishti of Shani as well. The 12th House placement of Venus also delays marriage.

1

Since Rahu is the Atmakaraka, the following Mantra must be done: 'Om Namah Shivaya Namo Nageshwaraya'.

Till this remedy is done, all relationships will damage the pride, and will bring shock and melancholy.

The Sade-Sati is also running and you have to recite the Chamakam for relief. The spouse will be very similar to how you are perceived by others: pure, large, optimistic and generally auspicious.

Once the remedy is done consistently, the marriage will happen. In view of the problems related to the sustenance of the marriage, it is important that the horoscopes are matched at the time of marriage. The marriage can come about anytime after May 8. The problems related to Venus will go only through Tapasya.

PRIMARY PULMONARY HYPERTENSION (PPH):

Nama Shivaya

1

Shani is in the Lagna in this chart and the Mantra: ‘Om Hoom Vishnave Namah’ will bring the vitality back to the body. Shani in the Lagna is in the Marana Karaka Sthana and due to the opposition to Ravi/ the Sun, which is the Karaka for the health and vitality of the Lagna, is adverse for health here.

Saturn is the dispositor of Rahu in the Maraka Bhava, the 2nd from the Lagna and thus becomes more malefic. It is retrograde as well.

The Sun-Saturn opposition involving the Lagna Lord Guru in the Maraka Bhava has caused the problem where the native loses consciousness due to the ailment which impacts the heart and the lungs both.

The Moon as the 8th Lord is the Atmakaraka but forms the Gajakesari Yoga with Jupiter in Kendra. This is auspicious as the Moon is placed in a friendly sign in the 7th Bhava from the Arudha Lagna (AL) which indicates fame in this lifetime and an easy passage into the world.

The 4th House from the Lagna indicates the cure as well and the AK in Digbala/ 100% directional strength here shows that once the soul deems the onerous Karma to have been dispensed with, good health will come.

The chart is otherwise excellent and she will do very well.

A cow should be donated as well to appease the Brahman Shrapa/ Curse of the Brahmin in the 7th Bhava from the Lagna and the 10th Bhava from the Arudha Pada.

CAREER PROBLEMS:

|Nama Shivaya| The root cause of the problem is the affliction to the Atmakaraka Moon by Mars and Rahu. Rahu is also the afflicted Badhak and Mars is the Lagna and the 8th Lord. You have faced anger, shock and such situations.

1

There is Karmic burden due to the involvement of the 8th Bhava and the Self has borne the brunt of these trials due to the fact of Mars being the Lagnesh. The Upaya is to chant the following Mantra:

'Om Namah Shivaya Namo Somanathaya'.

2

Do three Malas of this Mantra daily starting on Monday. Your whole life is caught up in this Yoga and the remedy will free you. Best Wishes, Anurag Sharma Vedic Astrology Consultant http://planetarytransformation.blogspot.com

KALASARPA YOGA:

Nama Shivaya

Your Rashi Chakra has the Kala Sarpa Yoga which must be remedied otherwise the personality and the personal life remain caught up in the grip of the Karmic Sarpa.

1

This can bring some deep desires which can bind life till the age of 45. The remedy lies in the worship of Guru and usually the Tara Mantra is prescribed: 'Om Tarayai Namah'.

1

Sarpa Yoga formed by malefics in Kendra also adds to this with passions etc. There is a very good Gajakesari Yoga in the 12th House which can help spiritual practices as well as wealth and fame since the Yoga is in the 2nd Bhava from the Arudha Lagna (AL).

Rahu is in Privartana with Guru and the true light of the Atma is not shining as yet.

When you perform the remedy starting from Guruvar and then chanting it daily, then things will begin to transform.

GENERAL INTERPRETATION REQUEST:

Nama Shivaya

The main trouble that appears from the horoscope is in context of relationships and/ or marriage.

1

The Karaka for these matters, Venus/ Shukra, is joined Rahu and the Sun and therefore gets quite afflicted, especially because the Rashi is Scorpio/ Vrishchik.

Furthermore, the 7th Lord Mercury is also in the Yoga.

2

The Upapada showing the marriage is also afflicted by the Grahan Yoga, showing some eclisping of the emotions in marriage.

It is a Manglik chart and if the horoscopes were matched it would aid matters. Otherwise Guru in the 2nd Bhava sustains the Arudha/ image through teaching and other activities associated with Guru.

Some difficulties from the father's side also come in such Yogas.

The negativities in the relationships etc must have been experienced in the Rahu Vimshottari Dasha and now in the Guru Mahadasha you have come to Jyotish more properly. This is a good Dasha for you.

MARRIAGE AND CAREER QUERY:

Nama Shivaya

1

The Karma related to personal life and relationships is a bit difficult due to the placement of Mars with Venus in the 10th House of the chart and experiences at the personal level may hinder your emergence into life as an independent person.

You need to be in command and control of your personal interaction. I

n the Moon Mahadasha running at this time, you have felt emotional distress since the Moon is the Atmakaraka and governs the soul.

Shani is also transiting the 10th House from the Moon forming Kantak Shani. After November the career support from society will become better. Till then you need to chant the Rudra Chamakam for relief and mitigation from the negative Karma.

Finally the career will be good due to the Lagnesh Mangal being in the 10th Bhava.

The finer picture cannot be given because the birth time needs to be rectified in order to arrive at the correct Lagna in the Varga Chakras such as the D-9 and the D-10 relating to marriage and career.

GENERAL (KALIKA YOGA):

Nama Shivaya

The Rashi Chakra has the Kalika Yoga which can bring pressures to the mind and emotions such as fears and anxiety, exclusion etc. But it will give Rajayoga as age progresses and towards the end of the current Moon Mahadasha the Yoga may be experienced in form of fulfilment of cherished desires.

1

Either nature has changed from a lot of inner anger around 28 years of age or it will change during the next Mars Mahadasha. The distinction between appearance and reality will become clear.

2

You will learn from traditional wisdom due to the Guru-Shishya Yoga in the 2nd and 8th Bhavas from the Lagna.

Sade-Sati is also running and adding to the emotional and social pressures.

You need to recite the Rudra Chamakam, the Kalika Mantra (with vegetarianism and under supervision) and also the Mantra:

'Om Namah Shivaaya Namo Bheemshankaraya'.

A BRIEF LOOK AT THE TWELVE LAGNAS/ ASCENDANTS IN VEDIC ASTROLOGY

People are often curious at the beginning of their astrological quest, to know something of the various facets pertaining to their ‘chart’; in other words, they wish to evaluate the basic propensities pertaining to their Lagnas and their Rashi/ Lagna Kundalis (Kundalis). Also, the Chandra Lagna itself and Gochar furnish other popular areas of curiosity. Lagna is the sign rising on the Eastern horizon at the time of birth and is occupied by a Rāśi (Rashi)/ Vedic sign. The average duration of a sign rising in the Lagna/ Ascendant is two hours and for this reason the twelve Rāśis cover the twenty-four hours duration of the solar day. ( Basic Jyotiṣa principles can be accessed by clicking this link ) Lagna imbues a person with individuality and therefore denotes the self and the personality of the person. It is the first house or Bhāva of the chart and is the commencement point of any horoscopic study. We cannot forget that in all the divisional charts as well there is a Lagna/ asc

The Yānavaṅta/ Yanavanta/ Annapūrṇā/ Annapurna/ Vāhana/ Vahana Yoga is formed when Venus and Moon/ Śukra and Cañdra/ Shukra and Chandra associate to form a Yoga in the Vedic horoscope; by Vedic horoscope is meant the Rāśi Cakra/ Rashi Chakra and the Varga Chakra as well, the latter being the divisional charts governing specific areas of life such as marriage (Navāmśa/ Navamsha), career (Daśāmśa/ Dashamsha), children (Saptāmśa/ Saptamsha), parents and elders (Dwādaśāmśa/ Dwadashamsha), comforts and luxuries (Ṣodaśāmśa/ Shodashamsha), spirituality and worship (Vimśāmśa/ Vimshamsha), education (Siddhāmśa/ Siddhamsha) etc. Let us consider the immediate meanings of the various terms used to indicate the Yoga formed due to the association of Venus and the Moon. The term Yānavaṅta/ Yanavanta indicates the charioteer or one guiding the vehicle of humanity or a group or individuals. A METHODOLOGY FOR VEDIC CHART INTERPRETATION

The following is an attempt to lay down a general method to conduct professional chart analysis. It appears to have worked well for the author in his practice. Notably though, it need not be the best way to interpret charts and the astrologer must find her own way when it comes to developing a structure with which to unravel any given chart. Some of the more general features of interpretation are being omitted for fear of the paper becoming unwieldy but certain crucial aspects of Jyotish interpretation are being explained since these are not very widely used. The author is indebted to the works of Pt. Sanjay Rath, author, scholar and Jyotish Guru of Sri Jagannath Center. It is through assimilating the writings of Pt.
