TIGER WOODS:
The Vedic/ Hindu horoscope for Tiger Woods is cast for the following birth data, taken from the Celebrity Astrology Blog: December 30, 1975; 10:50 PM; Long Beach, California.
Some snapshot evaluations of the principles of Vedic Astrology are given here in the context of this horoscope (Rashi Chakra) and are adopted and applied from the lectures and teachings of Pt. Sanjay Rath, at SJC Atri and elsewhere:
• At the level of manifest physical reality, in order for scandal to accrue, Rahu must aspect the Arudha Lagna with Rashi Drishti. The sign placement of Rahu indicates the area of vulnerability and the source pool from which the scandal emerges. For the given birth time, Kanya/ Virgo Lagna rises and Rahu is in the 2nd Bhava in Tula/ Libra Rashi. Tula is governed by Venus and it is the 7th sign of the zodiac ruling sexuality, relationships and marriage. Rahu placed in Libra shows that this is an area from which the protection has been withdrawn. Wherever Rahu is, the protection is gone. The Arudha Lagna is in the 9th Bhava from the Lagna in Vrishabh/ Taurus Rashi with the 3rd and 8th Lord Mars posited therein. He is a sportsman in a Venusian sport. Rahu being in the movable Tula aspects the fixed Vrishabh with Rashi Drishti and opens up the possibility of scandal coming from intimate life.
• The inner personality also appears to have these issues as the 3rd Bhava which shows copulation has the Rudra Yoga in a Keeta/ insect sign of Vrishchik/ Scorpio. The Moon is debilitated hinting at some psychological issues in this context. There is a surfeit of the Jala Tattwa governing emotions and feelings including erotic feelings. Scorpio has kept it hidden prior to exposure because it is the 8th sign of the natural zodiac and governs hidden things.
• Mangal/ Mars and Venus are in Bhava Parivartana/ sign exchange and this has always been stated to be a Yoga which leads to a heightening of the sexual impulse.
• The Rashi Chakra appears to be correct because the image is that of a sportsman and Mars is in the Arudha Lagna in a sign of Venus shows his career in golf.
• The Upapada Lagna is in the 8th House showing a sudden marriage with the co-lord of the 3rd House Ketu placed in it. It can show a partner from humble backgrounds. The length of the first marriage is in jeopardy because the 2nd Bhava from the Upapada Lagna is occupied by malefic Mars and aspected by Rahu and Shani from movable signs.
• Venus, the lord of the 2nd Bhava from the Upapada Lagna is cursed by the Graha Drishti of Rahu and Mangal and as it joins the Atmakaraka and the 8th Lord is involved, the suffering and adversity from the Curse of Spouse from the immediately preceding lifetime (Venus is 9th Lord). There is no way out of this curse except to bear it as the 5th House or lord is not involved with the Kalatra Shrapa and Mars is retrograde showing that the deliberate violence and deceit inflicted on the spouse in the past life will have to be repaid tooth and nail and no remedial measures can alleviate this.
• The Vimshottari Dasha may be seen. The Mahadasha of Sun runs and it is joined the Darapada/ A7 in the 4th House from the Lagna. Just as the Sun slept with Chhaya, the shadow sister of his spouse, human beings are apt to have shadowy relationships when Sun is in the Darapada/ A7. Even the royal, stickler-for-the-rules Sun does this in the Darapada. It ought to be remembered that any planet in the Darapada tends to give such outlandish results a kind of negative extreme of its significations. The Antardasha of Venus runs and is self-explanatory, as it is in Rudra Yoga with the Atmakaraka Moon and in Parivartana with Mars and stationed in the 3rd Bhava of copulation, a part of the Kama Trikona.
• Guru Partyantar Dasha is that of the 7th Lord in the 7th House and Rahu transiting the Darapada/ A7 has exposed the secret alliances.
• It all arose from a vehicular accident as Venus (vehicles) is in exchange with Mars (accidents) and the Antardasha of Venus is running. The shock has clearly gone to the game as there is Guru Chandala Yoga in the Dashamsha Chakra/ D-10 chart in the 2nd House and will damage his future in the game.
• This was also destined because the Amatyakaraka ruling the career, Mars, has the Atmakaraka ruling the Soul-self in Marana Karaka Sthana from itself and with the career taking off, soul level setbacks had to come.
• The Arudha Lagna is going to change to Scorpio where his visibility will become intermittent and he should consider taking up some business or line of work ruled by Venus.
• This makeover may also coincide with his second marriage because Scorpio is in the 8th House from Aries and shows the second marriage.

A BRIEF LOOK AT THE TWELVE LAGNAS/ ASCENDANTS IN VEDIC ASTROLOGY

People are often curious at the beginning of their astrological quest, to know something of the various facets pertaining to their ‘chart’; in other words, they wish to evaluate the basic propensities pertaining to their Lagnas and their Rashi/ Lagna Kundalis (Kundalis). Also, the Chandra Lagna itself and Gochar furnish other popular areas of curiosity. Lagna is the sign rising on the Eastern horizon at the time of birth and is occupied by a Rāśi (Rashi)/ Vedic sign. The average duration of a sign rising in the Lagna/ Ascendant is two hours and for this reason the twelve Rāśis cover the twenty-four hours duration of the solar day. ( Basic Jyotiṣa principles can be accessed by clicking this link ) Lagna imbues a person with individuality and therefore denotes the self and the personality of the person. It is the first house or Bhāva of the chart and is the commencement point of any horoscopic study. We cannot forget that in all the divisional charts as well there is a Lagna/ asc

A METHODOLOGY FOR VEDIC CHART INTERPRETATION

The following is an attempt to lay down a general method to conduct professional chart analysis. It appears to have worked well for the author in his practice. Notably though, it need not be the best way to interpret charts and the astrologer must find her own way when it comes to developing a structure with which to unravel any given chart. Some of the more general features of interpretation are being omitted for fear of the paper becoming unwieldy but certain crucial aspects of Jyotish interpretation are being explained since these are not very widely used. The author is indebted to the works of Pt. Sanjay Rath, author, scholar and Jyotish Guru of Sri Jagannath Center. It is through assimilating the writings of Pt. Rath that the author has been able to progress from the fundamentals of Jyotish to a somewhat deeper understanding. ARUDHA PADAS: The houses as reckoned from the Lagna/ Ascendant reveal the truth about the native. This is metaphysical reality as distinguished from precipit

Yanavanta/ Annapurna/ Vahana Yoga of Venus and Moon in Scorpio-8th October, 2013

The Yānavaṅta/ Yanavanta/ Annapūrṇā/ Annapurna/ Vāhana/ Vahana Yoga is formed when Venus and Moon/ Śukra and Cañdra/ Shukra and Chandra associate to form a Yoga in the Vedic horoscope; by Vedic horoscope is meant the Rāśi Cakra/ Rashi Chakra and the Varga Chakra as well, the latter being the divisional charts governing specific areas of life such as marriage (Navāmśa/ Navamsha), career (Daśāmśa/ Dashamsha), children (Saptāmśa/ Saptamsha), parents and elders (Dwādaśāmśa/ Dwadashamsha), comforts and luxuries (Ṣodaśāmśa/ Shodashamsha), spirituality and worship (Vimśāmśa/ Vimshamsha), education (Siddhāmśa/ Siddhamsha) etc. Let us consider the immediate meanings of the various terms used to indicate the Yoga formed due to the association of Venus and the Moon. The term Yānavaṅta/ Yanavanta indicates the charioteer or one guiding the vehicle of humanity or a group or individuals. It indicates leadership and the capacity to show the way to the multitudes and to guide and mould their live
